Hi guys, busy finalising my design and at a point of positioning the motors. The arms from the motors to the shoulder mounts are aprox 15 deg in and 30 deg from front to back. From the designs i have seen, the motors are all mounted straight in line with the rig and even with ball joints used the angles between the arms on the motors and the arms to the seat are extreme. What about moving the motors so theyre at the same angle as the arms from the seat? Would this be a good idea or not? Ive attached picture of what im trying to do. Anyone done this or is it a bad idea?

That is a bit more lean in than most. Usually there is enough scope in the ball joint to not really bother angling the motors but check to be sure, and angling the motors sure won't hurt.

    Hi Noorbeast,

Thanks for reply. I'll see how things end up and decide. I read somewhere that someone used spacers between the bolt heads and the ball joints in order to get sufficient movement. I don't want to add spacers, if needed I'll angle the motors rather.

    Will find out soon enough
