    Hi everyone

I wish you all a happy new year!

I am in the proces of building sfx-100 actuators. I'm doing it as shown on the official site: SimFeedback – SFX-100 – SFX-100 and SimFeedback hub

I was kind of hard to get the different parts. The site largely links to german suppliers. I'm from Denmark, so it isnt too big an issue for me to understand the language, but a lot of the links are broken so I was forced to seach for the items elsewhere. An underestimated task when building the actuators imho.

    Now the main question:
    - I bought the aluminum profile on another side. The holes where the thread inserts go into are 8 mm, and the thread inserts are M12/M8. The site states that i requires a lot of torque to cut them in, but 4 mm difference between outer diameter on the insert and inner diameter of the profile holes seems a lot. The profiles were quite costly so I really dont wanna ruin them. Advice? Should I drill the holes bigger?

    Best,
    Jacob

These are the wrong inserts. For your inserts you have to drill the hole bigger and you have to cut the thread.

Be sure to test the sliders first if the will fit.

    Hi Misanthrop

I have printed the slider and after a few attempts i fits like a glove. It also fits on the ball-rod

Please tell me.Why are they the wrong inserts. I get that the inner diameter of the holes in the alu profile should be 10.2 mm not 8, but it was the only ones I could find, and I kind of got lost in the many metrics I needed to pay attention to. And can you elaborate on "you have to cut the thread"

The screws holding the motor mount etc. are M8 - so the inner diameter of the insert is as it should be.

    I see 2 options:
If i cut the hole bigger - say 10-11 mm, shouldnt it work?
Buy M8/M6 inserts and use narrower screws for mounting

    What is the hole diameter?
