Hi, i am completely new to Simtools and want to know if i purchase a game plugin, how much customization can i do with it.

Let me give you an example: I want to purchase DCS for flight sims. i plan on adding a lap seatbelt that pulls you down under negative G's. Or i want to add servos to your back seat to feel the acceleration. I understand that you only have different axis's you can map but i wanted to do more...like

I have found that you can detect in the .lua file for DCS if there is pressure on the landing gear, if you check all three gears you can tell if the aircraft is on the ground and turn on/off or tweak the heave values.

additionally, DCS does not provide "afterburner" telemetry, but i found from testing you can check the engine pressure and RPM together and anything on jets over 102 is when the afterburn is on. on non jets this does not work so you can add a condition in code(.lua file) to check for if your flaying a jet.

So is there a way to customize stuff like this or are you just stuck with default settings? i'm not asking if the plugins are open source, but if there is a middle file or app that we can modify for customization

    thanks

There are a number of different DCS plugins for SimTools 2, though not covering what you have in mind.

Have a read as to how to create plugins, so you understand the possibilituies:

    SimTools v2: https://www.xsimulator.net/communit...lugin-for-simtools-2-0-api-documentation.131/

    SimTools v3: https://www.xsimulator.net/community/faq/simtools-v3.401/

Plugins are currently being ported to v3, so if you have specific ideas post them to the SimTools v3 Beta thread: https://www.xsimulator.net/community/threads/simtools-v3-public-beta.17329/
