    Please help!

I've installed Simtools and on the new version is very sluggish.

When I open DEScibe the movements are instant. Once I move to Simtools to test the motion has about a 2 second delay.

    Any advise please.

It even happens when I test. When racing iRacing the movements always has a delay.

I don't think it is a hardware problem as it works instantly in DEScribe but not in Simtools.

Let me rephrase...... when testing in iRacing and using Virtual Axis Output test in the Simtools is instant, but the motors have a delay.

I have become rather desperate regarding this matter.:sos

    Sabertooth 32x2 & Kangaroo x 2

Please take this into consideration as well as that the system worked perfectly previously. I removed the rig for some changes and since then have been having problems.

From returning the rig I have been having the same problem occurring. During this time I still had Simtools v1.3 loaded. Willem Pienaar & I then decided to upgrade to the new Simtools v2.1 and this problem still occurs.

I have attached some pics to see if anybody out there can take me out of me misery.

I contacted Dimension Engineering and they requested that I reset the Kangaroo to it's factory reset which was done. The tuning process gave no problems and the range settings are referred to in Pic 1 (Channel 1) and Pic 2 (Channel 2)

Once the tune has been uploaded in the DEScribe program, the program is closed and Simtools is started. Refer Pic 3 for the Interface settings.

When the Output test is done on DOF or Axis the motors start up and move, each moves to either side in a 2 second delayed action. Thereafter the motors seem to have power, as you cannot move them. When you power down and exit the Game Engine and return to DEScribe, the systems opens up and gives you different ranges (Refer Pic 4&5) that are then halved.

When "connect and download settings" in DEScibe are loaded again the DEScribe again reverts back to the orginal range settings.

I have loaded Simtools v1.3 onto a Laptop PC and connected the rig and the same problem occurs with the same results.

Hope somebody can assist as racing without motion is like kissing your sister!! hug:

First, please make sure you do not have SimTools v1 and SimTools v2 loaded on the same PC.
Only one should be loaded at a time.

Next I would advise you to Remove SimTools saying yes to the popup "Remove old files and...".
The re-install SimTools v2 so we have a clean install to work with.

Then maybe give this a run to check your installation of .net.

Lastly, when you remove the sim, what changes did you make buddy?
maybe lead more ideas on what needs fixed.

As I understood it @Willem Pienaar had his rig sorted, so should be able to advise.

Thanks for the replies, Willem Pienaar is not available for the next 2 weeks and I will be reinstalling Simtools v2 when I have some time to work with.

I'm a few years late here to this thread, but this recently started happening to me also.
Changing the interface output rate in the "Interface Settings" panel in Game Engine fixed it for me. The problem channel had accidentally been set to an output rate of 1ms, and raising that fixed the issue.

Just posting for posterity so that the next person who googles has a possible solution to this.
