    The official GamePlugin now available...
    https://www.xsimulator.net/community/marketplace/video-ride-player-plugin.177/

    @Blame73,
    I'm afraid not.
I have seen people with real ride films reformat the telemetry file for SimTools 2.0.
And I have seen the output working with v2.0, but because of the copy write issues, they can't share them.
But it means we can buy them and reform them for SimTools 2.0!
Or better yet, make our own!

What I hope for is that we can design and build a small diy device to capture both video and telemetry at the same time.
(maybe a gopro and a telemetry addon somehow...)
Even an app on a phone app could do it in some situations!
(But I would not want to strap my phone tot he front of a rollercoaster lol)
Then we can share the vid rides with each other!

But there are other ways too.
Like if someone creates a telemetry file for a movie.
The telemetry file can be shared, and everyone would have to use their own copy of the movie.
(btw, currently a movie would take forever to cue lol)

The Video Ride Creator has enough working parts to get us started.
But as I see what else we need, I will build them in also.
By releasing this software, I hope to get other peoples minds going about the possibilities of what we can now create!

Perhaps an analog imu hooked up on a logomatic datalogger... saves the motion data in text file while recording the video on a gopro... then have the software sync them together for motion output... ;)

    https://www.sparkfun.com/products/12772

Also another solution would be a arduino m0 to decode an i2c 9DOF IMU ( lots of to choose from lately), and save the data via serial in the logomatic... ;)

    Edit:
Oops, seems there is already a part that combines a 9dof IMU with Arduino M0 and SD card and battery for datalogger!!

Hello everyone, forgive my ignorance, but where I find the video ride player and the creator, I want to create videos with movement in my 2dof, and how it works, the part of the plugin is understandable, but look for the software video ride player and not Encounter, where can I download it or if it comes in the simtools?

Or something better, upload a telemetry file, for the video ride player, and thus be able to decode the data it sends.

One thing that may be worth noting,
It would be really nice if the device is able to capture 'x' number of telemetry data points per second.
Most devices just run as fast as they can giving us an un-equal per second points to deal with.
And what we would really like is a set amount of points we can sync to video.

Both solutions save text file with timestamp for each telemetry set. The point of using the timestamp is to later sync the video time with correct motion packet "frame" rate.

And you can set a constant frequency of capturing for both devices I linked above, with 250hz max rate I think it was.

What formatting data is required to play video with motion?

Another question, would it be possible to play a stream video and receive motion data over the network?

I am trying to use this for virtual reality videos. do you have any recommendations for how i could get these videos to play in a "VR Mode"?

    +1 !

I plan to buy this camera and build a motion recorder and set all of this stuff on a bike or a drone or a car :D

Cool idea, my one concern is the 30fps spec, which really is too slow for VR where the gold standard is 90fps.

I wonder if a 30 fps (or maybe 60 fps) video can be adjusted at 90 fps. If the video is 30FPS you can get 3 times the same frame on the HMD. The tracking and moving of the HMD is still at the 90Hz required to be smooth, but since the video is a full 360 video, you can use the same frame in 3 different angles.
