    Hi

First it was a long time that I've not been in this forum and I've not enough message to post picture (I think ?) so it will be a bit hard to explain...but I will post picture as soon as possible.

So I've got a Daytona 2 cabinet since long time.
It looks very nice and the cabinet is fixed by mean of a long and huge shaft which allows rolling rotation. In the original game this effect is simply reproduced by the ffb wheel with a belt all around and below the cabinet. Simple but very restricted.

So I decided to use it to realize an original simulator with specifications below:
    - 3 screens and not an only one away
    - rolling effect manage independently with game (it will be a 1 dof for the moment)
    - direct drive steering wheel with paddle and hand break (instead of the original 4 shifters)
    - dash board
    - sound performed by the 4 initiales speakers (2 in dashboard an 2 in the seat)

I've progressed in all the structure by create a aluminium support for 3 screens with a fiberglass hood in order to have a finished set.
Inside I've removed the belt and placed a classic DC motor to perform rolling mouvement.
A lenze servo motor was used as the direct drive streering wheel (with Argon driver) from an old set up I've made previously.
The dash board was all created in aluminum sheet with button and display for RPM and shift.

I like the mods you have made thus far.

New users are restricted in posting links, but photos are fine.

It would be good to have some photos of the roll axis, to get a better idea of what you plan

As an aside, you may want to consider transducers, they can add a lot to the tactile experience.

You're right the cabinet is already provided by two bass shaker : one fixed to the pedal assembly and other one in the seat. So I intend to use them of course.

I will draw a sketch to explain the roll axis which is a bit hidden by the entire cabinet so it's not very easy to understand with just photos !

As you can see below in this drawing from manual arcade game (note that the entire cabinet is removed in this sketch) :
    - there is a very strong shaft (#3) on which the cabinet is attached
    - it's interesting because on detail #12 there is a potentiometer which be able to locate the rotation of the shat so I use it in the electronic hardware to control motor
    - I replace the detail #2 (original belt controlled by the ffb wheel) by a DC motor with a shaft to move the cabinet

So here pictures to show :

    - the rolling motion by mean of a DC motor (it's a bit difficult to see something but we see the shaft motor on the right and the threated shaft which os connected to the cab). The picture is front of the cab. As you can see there is a bass shaker which is just behind pedals.

    - the potentiometer connected to the the central shaft (picture inside the cab, front of pedals)

The motor driver is a 60A Sabertooth. I've installed first SMC3-SPS. Here a quick video of first test of motion

As I previously noticed I will remove all the original wheel and build a structure to place a direct drive based of a Lenze sermotovor which is controlled by a Argon driver and a STM32 (under mmos software).

Here is the electronic force feedback wheel (under the main hood) : servomotor on the center, Argon driver on the left and different PSU on the left.

Next step will consist to test with Simtools.

There are two bass shakers : one inside the seat and an other one behind pedals. I would like to use them with games so which software you advice me ?
I would like to have effects when the car brakes in particular. For information I used already Simhub for the dashboard (strip leds for RPM and 7 segments for gear engaged).

    Thanks for your feedback !

There are a number of options when it comes to bass shakers, but for simplicity sake I would suggest SimTools Game Vibe, as things like port conflicts can come into play with multiple different software is used: https://www.xsimulator.net/community/marketplace/simtools-v2-game-vibe.201/

Game Vibe is getting a significant upgrade in SimTools V3, including triggering custom sound files: https://www.xsimulator.net/community/posts/227016/conversation?to=yobuddy

Thanks for your answer. I didn't see that Simtools comes now with V3 version. It's remaining on V2 from the official website (maybe a beta version). I will check this !

V3 is Alpha, currently in closed testing.

Ok I understand ! Good luck for testers and developers and thank you for your job !

I have a message for administrators and moderators : I think this post was moved in the "commercial simulator" by mistake by administrator.
It's surely a bad explanation from myself (excuse me for my bad English !).

The simulator on which I work here is an old arcade cabinet (from 1998) and was not a simulator. Of course it's not possible to buy it ! The original cab could roll by mean of a kind of belt connected to the wheel. So when the player turn the wheel the cab roll too.
I removed all parts and used here just the initial metal cab (the car look) but created all the simulator around especially :
    - the direct drive force feedback
    - the motion system with a DC motor
    - all 3 screens structure

So I really think that is a DIY project from scratch here I spent since the beginning perhaps more than 50 or 100 hours I didn't count now... If administrators don't think so I will happy to more explain that and give details.

    Thanks a lot !

Few days that I've not progressed...

The seat is designed with speakers and shakers. The sound didn't work....just due to a non worked speakers.
    With this model https://www.smallcab.net/haut-parleur-ovale-8ohms-p-451.html
    it works very well.

When the back seat is removed you can see speakers and shakers :

I have one question (many others later !) :

Is there a way to calibrate in simtools or in SMC3Utils ? In particular the center.

I use the pot inside the cab as it is showed in picture above, so it's not very easy to disconnect it to modify its value.
The cab is leaning a few at zero position in simtools, so I wonder if there is way to "calibrate"

I have searched in the forum but without success....if it's not possible I will change the Arduino sketch to introduce an offset.

    Thanks !

So I've applied an offset in the sketch here :

    Code:
    Feedback1 = analogRead(FeedbackPin1)+40;  // MODIFICATION : Ajust here (+40) for centering

Many times I've not posted news about this wip...
So here a short video showing how it works with my daughter !
