    Hi Team
I am very new to motion simulation and intend building a frex type simulator. I can buy these actuators and controllers locally (http://www.smc.co.nz/product/102/Electr ... es_LZ.html) does anyone know it they will work or tried them? - or is the SCN5 a better option. I would have to import the SCN5 compared to being able to buy the SMC locally.

    I would appreciate any feedback

    Regards
    Reid

    At first, welcome here :)

I flick through the documentation of the actuator and with some adaptation i assume it is possible. Before research the ways of connectivity, it is more interesting how expensive the SMC actuators are.

I don´t think that they are cheaper, because payload is much more higher as the SCN5 and speed is not so much slower.

So, give us a nice price and we can continue talk about them. Otherwise i only suggest the SCN5 ones. They are well tested and fit perfect for our needs.

Just a though: The modell L ZC 5H got a thrust of 72N and 200mm/sec speed (without load). That could be suitable to build a 3DOF fullmotion simulator. (not fast as the popular 301 ;) )

    regards
