Question SMC3 Problem

    Hello.

    I'm trying to build a motion simulator that uses Arduino and ibt2.

    The motor I am using is an ASME-04b.


    I am not confident in programming, so I disconnected the motor and the mode is activated by 24VDC (not very reasonable).


    I have a couple of problems with SMC3.


    If I check the connections and start SMC3 as described in the manual (KP400.MAX Limits, Clip input 255), the corresponding motors are turned off.


    Also, the blue gauge is still in the centre before you turn up the PWMax.


    As for the motor OFF, it turned ON when I lowered the MAX Limits.


    When the PWMax is increased while the status is ON, the yellow parameter increases.


    When I turn on the motor, the motor runs and the green line (presumably the potentiometer) runs until it swings past the MAX Limits.


    Are these problems with the SMC3 configuration? Or is it a problem with the SMC3 Arduino code? (Translated from Japanese as my English is not good enough)

    Is there a pot connected to the motor?

    I thought the ASME-04b are servos, is that correct?

    Yes, ASME-04b is a servo motor.
    I cut the wire connecting the motor to the driver as a DC geared motor and connect it to the ibt-2.
    The Pot is connected through the shaft of the ASME-04b

    Can you not use the servo motor correctly with its own motor driver and potentiometer ?

    Exactly.

    As far as I remember, these servos have the same connector as usual RC servos, right?
    In this case you can simply connect the servo directly to the Arduino and an external power source.

    I don‘t have the link at hand, but I know that you can find Arduino sketches for RC servos in this forum, and wiring diagrams with external power sources can be found via Google.

    So what kind of simulator are you going to build?
    I know that these servos have been successfully used for G-seats, but they are probably not strong enough for moving an entire seat.

    Yes, it is probably the one that has the same wiring layout as the ibt-2.
    I would like to build a seat like the one in the picture that moves the seat through the shaft if possible.
