SimTools Tuning Center? Axis configuration? Lever length?

Hard to say without any information about your rig.

You have to work with the surge force.
Give it less % in the axis or use an higher number in tuning center

In tuning center ,,,,lower surge Max setting to increase the gear change feel ,,,or increase surge Max setting to reduce the feel of the gear change jolt.
