What would be the better wiper motor to use for a motion platform? (year and mold of vehicle)

    Good question ...
First, as I see most of the used wipers here are commonly any car wiper motor ... And I think the better wiper motor is related to it's availability around you and how you're going to actually get it ? How much for ?

Second, I guess wiper motors power and torque is related to the wind shield blade size of the vehicle itself and How many blades are there ? ... So Buses, Trucks, Ships and Trains are the biggest ... descending to all smaller sizes of each one like Minibus, Van, Boats, ... atc .

So for using it in simulator for pull/push motion the decision is back to its final angular speed ... as you can maximize the torque and the working range as you like mechanically ... but not the speed .

So, the faster -> powerful is better than powerful -> faster .

    Regards

motors can be a tricky one. It does depend on the design planned, the overall weight on it, the balance, mounting position of motors, etc.
Is the platform going to be for race or flight or both.
@abdo_tahan those are a good idea and would be interesting to see in action.
Wipers are a good choice for a start to learn how motors work on a sim, but they are not very strong and can chew out eventually. They are designed to move one direction at a constant 1-2 speeds, not get thrashed back and forth and overdriven at 2.5-3 times the rated current.
Hence why we eventually go to bigger faster stronger worm gear motors, 12v boat winch motors (noisy but powerful) , 240v motors, or actuators - be it DIY or shop bought or converted gifts.
Nothing is unbreakable on motion simulator use and if pushed hard enough, they will break and or wear out. Just like having a real car/plane.
You would need to work out a design and we can advise of motor use.
And by the way, some members use 24v wipers at 12v. Bad idea, wipers normally move at 50-60rpm, so if yo have a 24v motor rated at that speed, putting 12v through is slows it to half speed and half torque. 20-30rpm.
A proper design frame will help you with a better motor setup.

Myself , I would only choose a wiper if it was the last motor I could find, the lifespan when a sim is set up properly, not slow and weak vibrations, chew the gearing very quickly so if you plan to run them like most, placid as then use them.
But if you want a sim that rattles ya teeth hard, or just about tosses ya out when ya crash then don't go there at all, they will break.

Biggest con is that you have to remove the body earth from most wiper as they use the earthing in the vehicle for the gnd supply to the motor, this is a bugger of a process and if you get it wrong you can do all sorts of damage , electrically to the sim bits. ie when motors reverse they send 12vs down the GND, so suddenly if not electrically isolated the whole sim is charged with 12V . Not a good thing.

    Use them but please beware.
