do you have heatsinks on the boards big chip? Are they overheating? One could be and not the other.
    Is the power supply ok?
Have you earth isolated the motors?
Is the tronic card working properly?
    Did you email pololu service?

could be a heat issue mate,
i found when pushing this drivers which was originally
designed for small battle robots, or line followers, need a heatsink over the
main chip plus a small fan helps.

Check the running temps mate, plus another could be how fast the updates are comming to the card,
which can cause a motor error.

Hello Hoosang, firstly with your motors. Even though they are on wood, the metal case is still connected to the rod end and unless you have isolated the earth off the motor, there is a good chance you are running 12 volts through the sim chassis. It may not sound like a problem, but you may be feeding back 12 volts through the power wires to the boards and upsetting them.
Secondly, I think I can see a potentiometer bolted to the metal bracket that the motor is on. This also could be feeding a 12 volt signal back to the control boards if yo have not isolated the earth off the motors.
Suggestion is, isolate the earth of the motors so you cannot use the motor housing as an earth, unless you have already done so. Check this first before telling pololu the problem.
Also email pololu service with your issue, and they maybe able to help.
Go with that. However, feel free to try another board if you have it.
    Cheers, David.
