    Hello everybody.
I'm having an atypical problem that I've never had in all these years working with motion sim.
I purchased a new PC motherboard Gigabyte B760 Gamming X.
When installing simtools on this new PC I am having interface problems. I've checked the bios settings but nothing has resolved it.
Carrying out tests on a notebook worked perfectly.
What could it be. It seems that USB protects itself.

Temporarily try disabling any antivirus and firewall, reinstall SimTools and test, to see if either is interfering.

Does smc work? It could be that something is taking over the interface com port. I found that having Cura open on my laptop when using smc caused it to not be able to connect to the interface.

Did you install any of the software that comes with the board like control center?

Thanks for your help. But I use Arduino and have it installed as serial. It works perfectly on 2 other machines, but this new one is pulling my hair out. I'll reinstall Windows and see if I can be successful. Thanks.

Correct. My Arduino was showing in device manager but SMC utils wouldn't see it. Closed Cura and SMC could then see it. This is reproduceable. It appears Cura was holding that com port connection hostage. You may have a similar situation where some service/application is holding on to the serial port.

You could try safe mode to eliminate any unnecessary services that might be interacting with the serial port before doing a reinstall.

You're a genius. Problem solved. I uninstalled the motherboard management software and everything was back up and running. Thank you so much for your help. I hope this answer helps other members who may be having the same problem. Again, thank you very much.
