Got a video of you racing? Want to share your win or show a race that you thought was just awesome? Show it here!

    I'll start

Sometimes you deserve to win and sometimes you don't.

The race started off pretty badly for me and I made quite a few mistakes throughout the first and second lap. After loosing a position and then quickly regaining it I manage to keep it together and eventually get second place due to the number 4 car spinning out. At this stage I was about 3.7 seconds behind the leader. I pulled it together and managed to get quite a few fast laps and kept consistent, scraping back half a second each back until eventually catching the leader. Iv'e fast forwarded to the last few laps to keep the video short.
On the second to last lap the leader brakes too late on the hairpin and I manage to close the gap but my tires are too hot and I can't accelerate hard to overtake. I keep the pressure on and stay on his tail looking for an opening.
We get to the hairpin again and I know I can brake deeper than him on this turn. I set myself up on the outside and watch for his brake lights. As soon as he brakes I wait a fraction of a second and press hard on the brake. I have a good line and I can feel the wheel turning in, I'm certain I might have him this time as I can feel that the car is going to have a fast exit speed but then something happens. This something is an inconsiderate driver who almost takes us both out of the race.
Luckily we are saved any serious damage and continue the race. On one side of me I am ecstatic that first position has finally been given to me on a silver platter but my competitive side has me thinking, I might not have had him that corner. He was on the inside and I can't be certain if he was going to overshoot or not. He had held me off for quite a long time and I know that I would have buckled under the pressure if I was in his position. I didn't deserve the win. I had a similar experience before where I polled first on the grid for the first time and in the opening lap some mullet took me out. I'd remembered how annoyed and frustrated I was at that point as I was certain I could hold first for that race. I called back to the leader and asked if he was still on track and to make sure that he wasn't pitting. I told him to pass on through. He had deserved the win fair and square and I wasn't going to let some douche take that away from him.

That's fair sportsmanship and some nice driving @Alexey ! If only everybody was this considerate...mind you, most people on iRacing are pretty fair but unfortunately there are always some who manage to sour everybody else's experience.

    What a great idea @Alexey!

I don't do competitive racing but here is my best Nordschleife 5:39.689 Hot Lap I did while tweaking Assetto Corsa settings.

Still plenty of room for improvements when I get my sim back together.

The Nordschleife track from the Assetto Corsa Dream Pack has been laser scanned, so is a very accurate recreation, and the Assetto Corsa physics are brilliant.

@Nick Moxley recommended that I install the Williams FW31 in Assetto Corsa for some hot F1 action at Nordschleife: http://www.xsimulator.net/community/threads/dx-racer-compact-simulator.5866/page-15#post-84595

I gotta say the FW31 is a real weapon, even with a few major whoopsies I could run a 5:20 at Nordschleife. The FW31 is actually easier to control than the Lotus Exos 125, far gripper and easier to gather up after a mistake.

Now it's time to tweak and master this beast, with a bit of fine tuning and practice I think it likely that 5 minute laps of Nordschleife would be achievable!

Unfortunately the 1.2.3 upadate broke the Old FCM cars pretty good. So With that said, the next project you can ENSURE it has Proper motion data will be the Virtual Simulations Ferrari 2002.....the 3.5 is workable but 100% needs to have a setup tweek performed or your in for a SERIOUS rough ride, as shown here,

And the reason the fw31 is easier to drive is the fact its properly setup F1 car. The lotus on the other hand is So Far from being proper, its not even funny.

I bet a lot of achieved times in AC with GO UP -

Since AC's v1.3 - FFB changed as well as the car setups................it's like I'm starting over with FFB and racing............
In summary, from what I can gather through many threads - IF you aren't into tweaking your car setups and saving, well, it just won't be the same as prior to the patches.

Let me know what you're finding with your AC setups.

INSANE oscillation on the JRK graph, Lol

And this is a Damper/heave damper issue.

If you want the "fix" just lmk.

Fwiw, little inside info. the W.I.P 2002 Ferrari is BY FAR one of THE MOST fun F1's i have ever had the pleasure of experiencing on my rig, Literally did Dozens and Dozens of laps before even checking in with my suspension guy. Normally ill make 3-4 laps and have a conclusion. I just didn't want to stop turning laps. Utter Joy in dropping tenth's at a time for 20-30 laps strait finding time here and there.

Works a charm thanks @Nick Moxley.

On my first lap I was nearly a minute slower around Nords with the Renault 3.5 than the FW31, but great feel and sound.

Another one to tweak and practice with...not enough time in a day!

Understandable, the Fw31 is a Full Blown " ON RAILS" F1 car from a VERY fast season, the 3.5 on the other hand, Not so much.

I honestly dont see the point in running modernish F1 cars @ the Nords. They haven't dont it in Forever IRL for good reason, the track would DESTROY the car and one touch of a kerb at those speeds and Hello Mr Rocket man. Lol Dottinger Hohe would For sure be a ROUGH ride lol.

I get what you mean @Nick Moxley but for me the fun of a simulated F1 at Nords is equivalent to me flying the Raptor inverted about 3M off the ground through the houses and trees in P3D, or flying the P51 through the railway bridges in DCS (it just fits), you would not do it IRL but it is a ton of fun in a simulator where the consequences don't matter. And yes Dottinger Hohe is a very rough ride in the sim.

I am not into serious racing, so for me it is just messing around.
