The Revive injector has been updated to fix Dirt Rally support: https://github.com/LibreVR/Revive/releases/tag/0.8.5

Instructions for standalone games (including the Steam version of Dirt Rally)

Download the Revive Injector here: https://github.com/LibreVR/Revive/releases/download/0.8.5/ReviveInjector.zip
Go to the installation directory of the game.
Find the main executable for the game. For Unreal Games the executable ends with ...-Shipping.exe.
Extract all Revive Injector files next to the executable.
Make sure SteamVR is running and then drag main executable onto ReviveInjector_x64.exe.

I'm impressed, works well on the Vive.

The Revive dev CrossVR has been a godsend and I suspect will be equally quick in adding other Vive game support as they are released, wherever possible.

He is good. There was a post on reddit about game developers relying on Revive to make their games run on the Vive and not bother to natively port it. Think they may have a point. Having briefly played it i can see why it was ported to the Rift first as you don't really want to get out of the car as there are no wheels or back end :)

Honestly I don't think devs or gamers can rely on Revive rather than porting, given how Oculus has already behaved in using the Rift itself as a hardware lock. While Oculus has done a back flip and made a public statement about not re-implementing it after the gamer and media backlash, that they implemented hardware locked DRM in the first place and in such a blatant manner sends up all sorts of red flags for me.

For me SteamVR is a better approach to supporting both HMDs, particularly for indie devs, who are very prominent in first gen VR.

But I can imagine some big studios being lazy and ignoring the Vive because Revive exists.

Anyone got any idea where you patch the dirt rally plugin to?
