I have seen 300mm cylinders suggested for a homebuilt RnR, but I have not seen anything on bore size?

Is there a sweet point I should be looking for?
    Does 38mm sound about right?

    Thanks!

Imho smaller diameters increase the respond time and bigger diameters have more force. You can use also big diameters and drive the system with higher pressures ;)
I think you will have to try it out.

Afaik the stock RnR cylinders have a piston diameter of ~ 4-4,5cm (mesured with a ruler ).

    regards

    Thanks again egoexpress!

Looks like my initial guess was a little low, and since I will be using 24v SMC valves, I don’t think running a little higher pressure would be a problem. My guess is that with running higher pressure it will cause the 3 speeds to be much more noticeable and not as smooth?

Anyway, what do you think about using 2 300mm x 50mm cylinders? They would produce allot of force, and use less volume than a 4 cylinder setup.

    Thanks
