    Hello everyone,

I'm building a 6-degree-of-freedom Stuart rig for an air traffic simulation project, and would like to benefit from the community's experience before choosing a main simulator

    My settings:
    – Traffic server running on a PC (UDP input)
    – Washing algorithm + inverse kinetics calculated on computer
    - Platform driven by a microcontroller (Ethernet/serial)
    - Target refresh rate: 50-150Hz for motion
    - Operating system: Windows 11

I'm currently comparing two simulators: FlightGear and X-Plane.
What I need from the simulator:
    - Low-latency motion data output with six degrees of freedom (push, swing, lift and roll, pitch, and yaw)
    - Stable data flow to traffic server (UDP preferred)
    - Consistency in values (no random mutations)
    - Community support/examples/plugins if possible

    My impressions so far:
    – FlightGear gives you complete freedom (open source, FDM editing, socket broadcast)
    – X-Plane seems to have a strong motion platforming ecosystem (DataRefs + Plugins + SimTools support)

Before I choose, I'd like to hear real opinions from people who have actually tested motion rigs:

    • Which one gave better motion response and lower latency?
    • Which was easier to handle with the motion server?
    • Are there any recommended plugins/tools/example code?
    • If you switch from one to the other – why?

I'm grateful for any comments, screenshots, logs or links to build threads.

    Thank you in advance!
