I don't think you need to pay for the wireless stuff.
And I would stay just under 30a and you will have more options for connection them to the pc

I would use these probably

I actually moded a winch motor a very long time ago that I still use for various projects today. :hi:

Its pretty easy, just remove the cable wheel and cut the sides off of it.
Insert a hole cut out out of HDPE ½” as a spacer and bolt it together.

Then you put it back together with a belt and drill new holes for the base (see pic)

You can even attach the pot right in the end on the winch motor if you get a little tricky.

Then you have to buy your wife a new cutting board if you drilled a hole out of it - lol

I was actually just choosing the cheapest one I could find in Australia.. I didnt care about the Wireless factor.

If I could get one quieter I would, but I dont really think there is any way i am going to be able to tell. so Ill probably just go for the super cheap auto one because its tried and tested.

besides i asked the ebay guy fro a discount on 3, and he wouldnt offer it.

yes a desktop test unit is recommended just to get it all right and sorted before building the whole unit. I ended up paying $150 for a pair, bargin considering im only using them for a frex 2dof but have the power and speed to move the whole unit. chair, wheel and pedals all combined.
Tested to 200kg of dead weight (sand bags) in the seat for a 2hour run with ai driving in rfactor then for fun i sat on top of the bags for half an hour, about as long as i could hang on. So thats a 280kg test. Have ya built a model yet to test your theories.?

I removed the clutch plates from mine, and switched the clutch gear for the output gear, which fits the shaft directly, but needs a spacer to replace the thickness of the clutch plate.
