Windscreen motors higher voltage

    Hi,
    I have 2 windscreen motors. As far as I know they are 12v.

    Would putting 24v through blow them, or just shorten there life?

    I'm not sure as I know more voltage would be increased speed and increased speed would be the main problem with damage. But in a motion simulator they are not running at full speed sustained.

    Also I know that higher voltage generally means you need thiner wire, but I don't know how this would effect the motor coil?

    I think it will burn the motor coil, i think motor wiper 12v strong use only for the seat not all rig, because i try all rig the wiper very fast hot, its my experience

    You can under volt a DC motor, but over volting will result in damage.

    Doubling the voltage results in four times the power through the motor. I would expect the motor to blow almost immediately. Motors have some safety margin, especially since in an automotive application the voltage often runs 13-14 volts instead of 12v. A windshield wiper motor is likely okay up to about 15v for a short period, but I'm not sure the exact specs.

    You can rewind the motor to handle 24v , but that is a tedious process, you can opt for wiper motors from trucks those are designed to handle 24v, those are also a lot torquier , you can get it for dirt cheap!!!!

    Rewinding the motor I don't think is the best solution, using truck motors is a good idea
