    Hello all,

i guess i want to share my adventure in making of DIY SIM RIG Tactile Transducer using available/scrap item in my store..

im sory that english is not my native language so i might be do some typo or misunderstanding/communication here..

so mostly i have to give the credit to mr. Jeremy Paterson who give us the complete guide to tactile transducer using simtool in iracing..i forgot where i download it but definetly in iracing forum..i will give the link as soon as i find it..With out the detail his provided, i think i will not be able to do this project

so current item that i have is:
    1) used philips SPA8210 multimedia speakers (which will act as my amplifier)
    2) 4x Dayton TT25-8 Puck tactile transducer mini bass shaker (im using 8ohm)
    3) Secondary sound card (for tactile transducer use)

im going to place it 2unit at my pedal set...and 2unit below my bucket seat..this is my roughly idea of placement..will do some experiment with it

so the basic principle is am going to get the telemetry data (bump/rpm/engine) from iracing using sim tool and convert it to low freq. and pass to tactile transducer thus giving us the vibration of bump/rpm/engine.
You also can use direct sound from the PC audio but u need the crossover filter to filter all the freq. except LOW.FREQ to use with transducer...by this way you only get vibration from pc sound data which is not very accurate compared to using sim tool which using telemetry data (more accurate)!

this is my 1st project here in xsimulator.net..so i have alot to learn here and there..help me thru out this adventure ya..

    regards,
    Labuci

    update as at 25/8/2016

i disassemble my philips multimedia speaker and mod to support as a amplifier for my 4pcs dayton puck transducer..so the specification for the transducer is 15watt/16ohm per unit. and my multimedia speaker provide 20watt/8ohm per channel (having 2 channel left & right)...my plan is to use 2pcs of transducer per channel so the 2pcs of transducer to be wired parallel to get 30watt/8ohm to match with my out amplifier..yes it getting insufficient power about 10watt less..but still it will run (and also thats the only amplifier i have now..duh)

so i manage to get pre-amp device with crossover filter build in..this is important as i use the sound directly from PC to transducer (As currently i dont have enough coin to buy iracing plugin and use SIM TOOL to get the telemetry from iracing) (donation of coin is very much helpful and appreciated)

the pre amp will isolate unwanted sound frequencies and just focus for give the low frequencies so the transducer wont vibrate when people chatting..

the inside of the philips multimedia speaker...i was shock that 1 of the speaker is dummy!!...theres no wire and magnet!!..how could they do this just to impress the outer of the product..

next to get rid of all the speaker and remain the dummy speaker there to cover the speaker whole...
and owh yeah...this is the main speaker with volume and power supply with inside the RIGHT SPEAKER BOX

    20160824_174841.jpg
cut or unsolder the wire connected to the speaker cus we will need the speaker wire..

    20160824_175400.jpg
there!...dummy speaker inserted!!...i wonder how the sound will feel..duhhh

    Continued..as i mistakenly push reply to thread..sory..

so you need to take out the green board at the LEFT speaker...just cut the wire like in the picture below...

and also remove the small capacitor on BOTH LEFT and RIGHT green board to disable the small tweeter speaker
20160824_195330.jpg dont forget to take out the speaker wire on the LEFT speaker too

    20160824_200355.jpg
Small capacitor that need to be remove on both board

Next is to cut the red and black wire in the right side of the power supply board ON THE RIGTH SPEAKER BOX
    20160824_195357.jpg
as u see here..it has 4 wire...cut the rightest..not the 2nd wire from the right..i mistakenly cut the wrong wire..LOL..we going to need the connector only..

take the connector Then join to the wire you cut at the LEFT board wire earlier
    20160824_175644.jpg
after joining it together..connect the connector to the RIGHTEST PORT (above SPA8210 label)

Stack both green board together with glue..

    20160824_204054.jpg
take the FEMALE UNUSED RCA HEAD (im using male head because i dont have female head) and wire/solder the together with the speaker wire you cut earlier...after that connect the connector to the green board like in the photo

    20160824_205114.jpg
Drill the hole and put the RCA head there

Assemble everthing together and now you have ur DIY amplifier for transducer

The LEFT & RIGHT RCA output will be connected to ur transducer...2 transducer per channel..REMEMBER THAT

done for today..will continue more next day
