Since I've all parts finished and the elektronics working well, it's time to start the Item profile Structure.
Since I was lucky to get a huge amount for free in different lenght I would like to use it.
For my Design i need a lenght of 1M but only have 50cm pieces.
Can anyone recommend a good way to join 2 50mm profiles to get 1m?

Also here is a litte schematic how i wired everything up.

Ok I was able to get the longer pieces also for free :grin so no need for combination.
I made a new design of how i would screw everything together.
Note this is only basic with copied parts. Just as little overview.
I hope i made everything right according to your tips. Will this motor mounting be high enough? Or maybe too high?

As you can see I'm not a Sketchup professional

Maybe I'll add a Pc monitor later if my motors will support it and the first runs turn well.

    Just some minor considerations.

I know it is just a sketch but do ensure the pivot is as close to the seat as it can be. And you may want to check with @Archie to see what angle he runs the rods on his foot shaker.

    Hello.
my pivot looks like this. At the end the seat will be about 12,5cm about pivot middle point.
    2015-07-21 17.45.31.jpg

I wasn't able to find Archies Sim. But maybe in the sketch the rods are a little bit false. Mesurements are taken that in the end when motors are in middle possition, everything will be 90°. Or should the rods be mountet in some Angle?

    Thanks for the Link.
After reading I decide to mount the rods in some small angle like Archie did. This should be no problem since the rods are really adjustable at their mountmoint.

I thought about more about monitor mounting. Since i don't want to disassemble everything to recalibrate the center of gravity, i will include it directly. For me a small 22-23" pc monitor would do.
I've expanded the sketch for monitor mount and shiffter, also added some messurements to get an Idea about the size.
Did you think my motion control products motors are able to move this? Or should I leave the monitor away. Maybe this will be to high?

If I recall you had 60:1 motors and gave yourself the option of 40, 60 and 80 CTC on the levers. That will move a balanced rig just fine.

While it is only a small monitor you are adding it is important that the rig is balanced with yourself, the peripherals and the screen on it. Just adding something is not about just the weight of that item but the leverage length that mass has from the pivot point, as that increases the effect.

Today I builded the structure and defined the COG.
I only wait for my motorbracket mounting screws which should be delivered tomorrow. Hopefully than I can screw everything together.

It was very hard work, but today i finished my Simulator.
Some things like shifter and monitor are missing. I get out of connectors and screws :p

Here are som first pictures i will add more detailed pictures later.
    IMG-20150725-WA0003.jpg IMG-20150725-WA0004.jpg

Here is a little video of the first motion in manual mode with the slider.
Note that the first motor is goging off incase of not tighten pot screw :p

I have some problems with the front twisting a bit. The thing isn't ast stable as i thougth. I need to find a way to fix this bevor taking my first ride.

ha you'll never be done. as soon as you think your done there is always more to do. just short breaks in between building.

    very nice build

    I agree with you :)
what i actually meant was building the hole structe finished. There are more parts like shifter and dashboard... comming.

I made some better Pictures of the rig. Some cables are not cuttet to length right now. Like Pot killswitch... This will happen when they are finally in place. Pots will be replaced soon by Halleffect pots.

For the Wires going to the top platform I will order some of these, I really love them:)

Here are some pics of the Rig:

    Final1.jpg Final2.jpg Final3.jpg Final4.jpg Final5.jpg Final6.jpg

I hope I will fix my stability problem soon. There is a lot of torsion twist between the front pedal section and the back base section.

Also at the moment I'm searching something to start with my motors. Maybe someone have some good pid settings? And maybe a simtools profile? Because i think i do something wrong in profiling.

Since i have no good camera there are no videos of the moving rig. Maybe today someone with a better one came around and we could make a little movie of the motion.
That's my biggets Problem at the Moment. I've got no idea how to get a good motion profile. After 5 mins of driving dirt rally I fealt very sick =(
I've lookes in the Faq and have done like descriped there.
But I'm confused about Angels and Forces. Which one should i define for my axis?
At the moment I added the forces like in the tutorial.

    Unbenannt-1.jpg

But if I look at other threads they have asigned the Angels. Sorry but I got no experience with simulators or motion profiles.

Looks great, but i think the "Gewindestangen" don't know who them calls in english, are a little bit to small for your sim design. Because you have to move the whole sim + a full weight person, so it will be around 150kg min. I would say it is recommended to use the M12 ones as a minimum for you ...

    Thanks for your replys.
@noorbeast I've done my profile with this tutorial. With this tutorial I get the first motion out. I played around with tuning center but it feels like there is something wrong. I have to play around more with tuning center etc.

    @WowaDriver

Luckily my girlfriend was here. She got better smartphone.
Here you can see the motion in Race 07.Please ignore the bad driving.

You could increase surge, it seems to have a very limited range at the moment.

Keep in mind that the smaller the number in the Tuning Center the sharper the movement response.

Have you run base settings in the Tuning Center, like this: http://www.xsimulator.net/community/faq/set-base-tuning-motion-values-in-the-tuning-center.122/

With surge follow @bsft's advice for snappy gear changes: http://www.xsimulator.net/community/faq/snappy-gear-change-motion.121/

Once you have surge and sway sorted try adding heave. It often needs a number less than 1 in the Tuning Center.

You have only used 40% if you are using 20 sway and 20 surge. Heave is missing heave will give you bumps, tire hop and such. Also you may want to apply a filter to the sway it's a little snappy side to side on the straights. Set up in axis assignments then use the tuning center to balance and get the details. The tuning center is an awesome tool. It looks good with what seems to be a good range and power. But just like building them you will not ever get the perfect set up and will tweak settings forever. I mess with the settings more than I race now lol.

like you said its very hard side motion. Finally i find the filters. :)
I will play a bit today and hope i can get a good setting. Thanks for your help. I will report how it turns out.

I think in 1-2 month, when my new build will be finished i would have the same problems like you, so i would be happy if you will be than like a pro and can help me :D ... otherwise i think there would be more than one sleepless nights ... :D
