Hello Dave, Im Dave as well, and live in Merrylands, myself and others can help and guide you through the process as we have extensive experience. I will suggest the Pololu JRK 12v12 and 200 watt DC motors for a basic seat mover as a start. Or even better, drop over and play on mine.
    Regards, David.

Hi i am Tommy. I have been a member for some time and have studied this great site intensively. I want to thank all the members for being a great source of inspiration. The reason i haven't introduced myself before is, i’ve been very busy developing and building my own simulator.

I'll try to find some time in near future to contribute some more.

    Thank you!

    Tommy

I know I and others would very much appreciate hearing a bit more about your project @T frank, can you please post some details and photos?

    Oh you know : )

I would really like to post some detail and photos, but i don't know if it would be appropriate at this time. The problem is that the project has turned out so well, that it is being launched on kickstarter in ten hours. I am literally sitting with my finger on the “go button”, and come to think of where i found the inspiration for this project, and i should thank you guys.

The matter is that i haven't contributed yet, and wouldn't it be regarded as a kind of spam?

If you take inspiration, and one would imagine information, don't contribute then seek to benefit via Kickstarter then yes @T frank I suspect it would likely be regarded as spam.

Frank, also note that if you are using SimTools or any other software that you or your company did not create, there are legal issues as well as the ethical issues @noorbeast mentioned.

But, if we are discussing your personal motion simulator we would all love to see and discuss with you how it turned out.

I said “thanks for the inspiration”. It is not a matter of taking information. I am perfectly capable of constructing and developing a thing as simple as a motion platform myself. And when i said “contributed yet” it means there is something to come. I sense a not so nice atitude, so i think i can spend my spare time better elsewhere.

It is possible for the users to use SimTools and i am glad to see it getting more users. The way i see it is that i am providing more costumers to X-Simulator.net. We are only selling the simulator.

    I like positive attitude.

I think you miss the point @T frank , it is not about 'attitude' but rather that you seem to be suggesting a commercial prototype drawing inspiration from here, with the view of getting people to use SimTools via your pending Kickstarter campaign. If that is indeed correct you really should make a full disclosure here, as I am presuming you have not negotiated a commercial license with the SimTools creator @yobuddy: http://www.xsimulator.net/community/faq/commercial-related-use-of-simtools-and-prototypes.173/

Noorbeast- It is not correct. Inspiration for me is to see other people being creative. With your assumptions you make it sound like inspiration is stealing, even without you knowing anything about my design. I believe my design is rather unique, and i would like to share it, only to make my contribution to the community.

I think all designs are somewhat unique @T frank and by all means do share yours. However, from your comments you plan selling your simulator and if so it is a commercial prototype and should be posted according to the link provided, that protects your interests as well as the interests of others. The same link provides information regarding negotiating commercial licensing if it is indeed your plan to have people use SimTools with your simulator.

@T frank , if you say you "have studied this great site intensively" - but just for inspiration (...) - then you surely know that @noorbeast, as also some other well known members, are here to help, for free, in their spare time, and always with positive attitude. If you want to leave, I'm sorry, but don't charge anyone with that 'negative attitude' stuff, cause we all know here it's not true

Hi, im a "veteran" in the world of flightsimulation but completely new in the world of motion sims. I am now looking to build a 2dof motion platform for FSX or Prepar3d. So far it had been a steep learning curve but slowly all information is starting to make sense...

looking forward to exchange information here.
