You got some Overly twitchy forces going on there Milton. I suggest you rework your Tuning center. Surge for example should not be as abrupt as you have it. I can see when your chick Barely TOUCHES the gas pedal, you get a Full surge moment, That isn't right at all. Traction loss should also be a nice smooth linear force, Not twitching back and forth, and Overall "intensity" of the motion wont change that. So You 100% need to work on your tuning center #'s to smooth out that motion.

Hrmm, also i dont see the 4" of head movement you specked out in your CAD drawing.....i see overall very little actual distance travelled out of the TL.

Yes I notice that too this was a quick run after the upgrade and I crank the setting high so I can see the motion but yes I need to tuned all the games, does anyone knows the calibration process? what I do is I run the Capture in Tuning center for few seconds is that enough?

Nick, The 4" travel is there the arm on the motor will travel 4" from the center to either direction what happen on the video is that the Traction loss was not showing when driving on a straight line so I crank the setting up high so I can record the video this was just a quick run.

I will try to tune everything and create another you tube video soon some time next week, I am still a rookie and learning how to tune the simulator.

    best,
    Milton

Question: How long should I run the Capture in tuning center?

This is something we've sorely been needing for a while. A In depth tuning guide on how to maximize your motion. v2.0 will have something along these lines.

Capturing needs to be done for Way longer than a few seconds. you ideally need to run a "CLEAN LAP" and monitor the #'s the tuning center is outputting, (UN CHECK THE LITTLE CHECK MARKS in Tuning ccenter) Remember tho Different style's of cars will output different min/max's. So be careful what you set your default #'s on. A Super Stiff F1 car isn't exactly ideal for setup, you want something with a little suspension movement, a little body roll.

next you'll want to take those tuning #'s and somewhat round them off....so if roll gives you a 10.8908787899 make it 11.

Do 1 force at a time, this will make it easier to pick up twitchy data/tuning center #'s and allow you to tweek those #'s to get the feeling your after, Also dont forget about Axis % for the particular force your working on.

PS i would be open for a Skype chat if you want. easier to explain thing's and you do it right on the spot and feel the immediate difference.

looks like you have it reversed, at 14 seconds you turn right and it slides right, thats not correct

i was also going to Nit pick the crap out of the video, but there's many questionable moments in motion, with Sway and with TL.....Which is why im trying to Push milton into doing a 100% RE tune, ONE force at a time. This will 100% expose any wrong direction's or twitchy forces. Trying to do the "learn the min/max" when your a novice is asking for a Shi* profile.

Start with doing 1 force at a time, making sure to Un check the particular force your working with in the tuning center, and also just running the "capture min/max" and observe the #'s being output.

You can either run a really HIGH min/max in the tuning center, OR you can do into Axis assignments and turn the %'s to zero for everything but the force you want to test. I suggest writing down your Tuning center #'s and doing the BIG min/max to eliminate the ability of the software to access those #'s the game is spitting out.

Roll and Pitch are #'s you want to match, for example if you get a 10 roll and 15 pitch, i highly suggest you Run your Min Max at such for both roll and pitch, Heave, sway and surge are #'s that you actually want to be smaller to use more of your % of the force assigned. Traction loss is the tricky one, You need the min/max small enough to access some data, but Big enough so that you dont "loose traction" when the car in game is NO WHERE close to loosing traction.

this is only a Fraction of what could be explained, i just dont have the time to type/explain all that ive learned in the past 2+ years with the software/hardware, Again why i suggest a Skype chat to clear the air and get direct feedback while you test....But you dont seem to want to do that, so you'll have to deal with little blips of info from me and other members who are willing to share.

Nick is 100% correct get the direction proper and balanced before you tweak it in tuning center. One dof at a time is the only way to ensure it is correct. I do it in axis assignments first but the other way works to. After i get the direction correct I go to axis assignments and set how much movement i want with percentages. then i add filters if I need to (experiment one at a time to see what they exactly do). then i go to tuning center to make the profile "pop" increasing or decreasing the tuning center numbers. one is attack and one affects return. There are many different ways to get there but the consensus is to start with one effect at a time.

I run Tuning Center and capture the Game Data for few cars I did a full lap in Suzaka Racing Course Grand Prix config on each car and got different results I am just wondering witch one should I used for my tuning parameters please take a look at each result:

I cant say Which to use per say, As i can see you did some different style driving on each car, How can i tell, well by your Extra 1 axis, the Fact you pulled a max of 26 on the lotus means you were wagging that tail around pretty good to access that big of Extra 1 value, The Renault value is next to nothing which meant you didn't drive the Renault Anywhere near the limit, which also poses another problem. if you Drive your Capture min/max lap at a Snails pace and dont actually replicate what you do while driving, your only hurting your profile in the end. The only thing you dont want to do while trying to monitor your min/max's is smash a wall or find yourself on the grass or sand trap. That will skew the #'s for that run and you'll have to start over.

I also dont suggest using 1 set of #'s,....this is where you have to individually feel each force withe different axis %'s and with small and large Tuning center values. some cars/forces can be used in common between a F1 car and a Street Car, For example Roll and Pitch shouldn't really change with the style of car, So there's 2 forces you only have to tune once.

Thanks! this is very good info, Let me run the track few more time i will keep the driving very clean and smooth and get a base line to review.

Question, witch car should i used?

you can have different presets for each car/track if you prefer. but you should start with your favorite IMO.

I don't know if this is of any help...but when I started tweaking the values I drove an ordinary car around the track without crashing (not a supercar) and tried to compare the feeling of the simulator with the experience I have from everyday life driving.

From there on it was a matter of adjusting some values.

I know it may be against what people advise but I force myself to have only one set of values per game for all the cars.

This is done with the assumption that the game outputs realistic data, that are analogous to the performance of each car. This way high performance cars feel different and more aggressive than Street cars. This way i ensure that there is also some scaling of the aggressiveness, meaning that an Alfa Romeo mito doesn't "feel" the same as a 911 when driven on the same track.

But not all sims are the same. for most of the sims I agree, 1 setup is enough. sims with different disciplines or ones that i play often, i tend to have a few. Especially for i racing due to the length of time ill be getting abused in some of the longer races.

Blazin, Profile editor maybe is what he's referring to

All games WILL NOT play nicely with the same Tuning center #'s.....Ac for example. Run a Stiff Mod F1 on a Aggressive Tuning center, and your asking for issues.
