This is exactly where I am confused:

Patch what? as the game is on xbox one.
Am i totally thinking about this wrong?

I have read about " launch notepad.exe on GameManager PC" does this literally mean have notepad open and do nothing with it?

Yes I did it on PS4, as it is my gaming platform. You do not need a script. You need to launch notepad.exe that will trick the game detection mechanism. I know this is not clean, but it is the only quick&dirty alternative I had. I started a discussion with @yobuddy and @value1 but I need to catch-up on this to find a more elegant way.

    Cheers insanegr
But this is where I am stuck...

    1. drag/drop plugin
    2. go through patching (BUT what patching if game is on xbox one?)
    3. Launch Pcars (on xbox one I assume)
    4. Launch notepad on pc (what? just open notepad - thats it?)

So I am stuck at task 2 lol - I'm probably being an idiot

vthinsel: thanks for info, and thanks for your creation. I am very interested as i haven't seen any claim of anyone trying this or using it with xbox one. Its very revolutionary! well done!

So I do not have to assign xbox one ip or anything like that? (not read that anywhere anyhow :) )

Nothing to configure. Just activate UDP on PCars. Data is sent on UDP, using broadcast explaining why you can use simultaneously XSim, Apps on tablets/phones/ , etc. Everyone has access to the sme broadcasted data as long as you listen on the correct UDP port.
Your XBox must of course be on your network, and more precisely on the same network as the devices (including XSim) you want to get data from. Broadcast packets are no routed, network wise.

UDP port is pre-defined. Do not bother about that. Just make sure UDP is enabled in the game and that your PC has no firewall/antivirus blocking the UDP stream. you can make sure UDP traffic arrives on your PC by using the small exe file I included in the zip file of the plugin, or in this post as well.

In my other post I found I was doing something wrong.
Radioproffi pointed it out with a screenshot, that I had to make a txt file. I didn't read the message correctly when I clicked patching, and assumed it asked for cars install location .
Now I can launch note pad and it does say GAME CONNECTED. However I can not get any sliders to move.

Is this perhaps because I am remote into the pc via my macbook?

    :)
For some reason, after clicking this in task manager, I got a dos window displaying live values for my xbox one.
I re-shut everything down, and rebooted the simtools engine and manager.

And now I can see sliders move :)
And more than that the actuators move !

MASSIVE thank you! You guys have really helped and been patient.

My final issue looks like its just setup configs.
Because both my actuators move at the same time on roll, they are never different lengths.
I have axis 1 and 2 set up the same with Roll and pitch in dof1 and dof2 and coloured the boxes orange. Is this correct?

    Thank you

its fairly hard work at first isn't it. I understand tho, we or I am not asking for something common and simple. So I suppose the solution and setup won't be simple either.
I just learnt about the Dir, and what it means thank you. At work now, but that certainly sounds like my issue.
My head has hurt a lot already, and not even started to build the rig lol.

I'm just over the moon that I have xbox one, cars, and actuators all syncing - it seems like the impossible, and can't find anyone who is using this setup, and many believe it is impossible.

Funnily enough, back to the start - I am going to be on a gaming PC, but don't want to order parts until my oculus is shipping. This is so I can get the best 1080 card at the time. They are all coming out right now, so its right to wait a few weeks. Oculus stated July 12th, so got a month to play, and it is amazing news that I can do this all via my xbox one. This means i can get all setup and ready before buying a pc.

I think if PS4/XBOX one owners knew that you can build a motion rig for Pcars on console for about £300 - then we would have hundreds of additional members building motion.

    Thanks again!!!

What game are you trying to patch?

Most games will be patched to their install folder, including those inside the Steam install directly.

But some, like Codemaster games, are confusing as they patch to the install directory if it is a 32bit system, but they patch to the particular game inside the Games folder in My Documents if it is a 64bit system.

Sorry guys, didnt had time to do all the suggested things (capture min/max). In meantime I did learn its crucial to do it as I was optimizing LFS. Hope to get to Project Cars soon enough to try this :)

Man, i´m on the same situation, i´m going to try the same thing even when it´s weird but i´ve tried a lot of things and the game manager still doesn´t recognize the UDP signal from my xbox one even when the UDP .exe works inmediatly. Thanks to you all for your hard work and inspiration.
