Simulator 3DOF development with brushless motor + Arduino

    Hello everyone,


    I would like to show you my study of my 3 DOF simulator .

    For the cinematic of the motion platform, here are the element that I will use.
    • Angle gear 1/50 or 1/60 (see according to final mass of the platform
    • 1000W Brushless Motors Leadshine EL5-M1000-1-32 (3.2Nm / 3000 rev / min)
    • Double cam with different positions to 100mm / 80mm / 60mm.

    I would like to use Simtools + Arduino Uno + 3 Driver Leadshine EL5-D1000-1 (See the link of the datasheet below). What do you think about that?

    I need some information about the wiring between the Arduino and my brushless driver EL5.
    I am not electronics engineer; I understand nothing but I try.
    I would like to know if i can compare my driver EL5 with the card Monster in terms of signal. (PWM)

    For you the software of the arduino will be the same than you or not?

    For the moment it's a little fuzzy for me.

    Pourquoi ne pas mettre d simples rotule en place des joints de Cardan en haut des bielles ?

    Why not set up of simple ball universal joints at the top of the rods?

    Hello Momoclic,

    The sphérical bearing does not have enough angle, I prefer use these types of hinges for their robustness and large tilt angles.
    The disadvantage is the price.

    Not too sure who you are commenting to, but could not find a negative comment on this thread ? I do like AC Servo motors (I would have loved to use them in my sim) - I was just pointing out for members who may not know, that they are quite expensive $$$ for your average DIYer - which is true.

    Can you please just post more details of the motors wireing and the driver configuration .
    And which aurduino code did you use ?

    I mostly advice using a VFD inverters for 3 phase induction motors with the same angled gearbox and an SMC3 Arduino code for such 3DOF setup .

    Wow those servos are a little pricey. This should be a blast when it's finished. Very clean build @sasystem look forward to seeing this rig completed.
