    If you choose Hall sensors it is easy to direct drive/mount them, no gearing needed.

    Yes those would be fine. It is a good idea to use a flexible coupling and those come in a variety of sizes to suit most mounting needs.

    I have never seen a hall sensor before... They have no friction right, meaning the shaft turn super easily unlike a wire wound pot? Does it have ball bearing to support the shaft?

    The Bitech/TT pots have a bushing not a bearing unfortunately, but that bushing is pretty dang tough i might add.

    Well... I ordered 2x 6127 from mouser...

    But I found a few of these from some old project... the specs say they are Potentiometer, but man, they absolutely have no friction whatsoever and spin ultra smooth... wonder if I can use it.

    did you buy the hall effect pots ? Do you need to change setup values in Arduino codes ? Do you know it ? I made a diy hall effect pot. it can control the motor but cant control the angle of the rots. Motors continue to turn doesnt stop at the position.

    Just got them in yesterday, have not try it yet... I haven't read up on it. But did you make sure the + and ground is correct? I think this is important.

    The effective range seems to be less than 180 even if they are, Im worried if a motor runs over one side of the limit it will be outside all range and stop working. Just wouldn't have that issue with 360.

    Most don't run anything like 90 degrees up and down on a motor, as the torque loss is really significant. Personally I use 40 degrees max up and down, so 80 degrees total. There is huge headroom left over.
