You would need 4 220v lines correct?

I'm still trying to find the hollow shaft I also need the linear bearing with the correct dimensions in the U.S. Smalltec and Dold don't ship to U.S. I've found 30mm x 45mm x 64mm linear bearings but not 30mm x 47mm x 68mm if anyone finds them post links here thanks.

All I'm saying, is that these power converters from 110v to 220v they don't pass though the ground. Your 220v line should have 3 wires, L N and Ground, but in US its usually the 220v is 2phases combined = L1, L2 and N instead of ground.

The N (neutral line) is not the same as ground, its not the local ground but the remote ground from the power factory that they use for reference!!! It may still have some different in impedance to the real local ground (Local distribution).

Maybe this will help to understand it visually:

Just a quick test of all 4 actuators running alongside simtools and simcommander

I have not made any tweaks or adjustment yet, since i have really looked at all the available setting yet. The servos are now running at 1200rpm max, they can go up to 3000rpm max

Initial thoughts: I can probably ditch simvibe and it's operation is super quiet

Great work HoiHman! Actuators are so quiet :)

I respect SimFeedBack's decision not to share their code for a SimTools plugin but it really would make a big difference to us SimTools users who are already running all their hardware on SimTools :( Hope the team can come to some type of agreement one day. Either way this project is amazing.

Truth is a Simtools plugin is not really necessary. You can output unmixed individual dofs using UDP or shared memory. So all that's needed is for somebody to convert the data if necessary into the format simfeedback needs so it can use it in a plugin.

That's good to know, definitely above my expertise level though lol

I was thinking of using Thanos 1280 for SimTools compatibility as the easiest method. I'd also be looking to add limit switches to the actuator build as Thanos mentioned for added safety if possible.

I could be all wrong about this, but.....

The source code for writing plug-ins is available in the wiki.

If there is a possibility to let simtools put out data in the same way as a game, all you need a to write one plug-in for simfeedback for total compatibility of all the games in the simtools library.

Correct. Would need just one plugin then use tuning center as usual for different games.

I'm looking at taking this design and modifying it to produce a cheaper alternative for myself as 400 euro each is a bit out of my price bracket. New to linear actuators so unsure about a few things.

Can I use a Nema23 3Nm stepper motor? Enough speed and torque paired with a 1605 ballscrew? (1610 ball screws seem had to come by and more expensive)

100x100 Ali profile is quite hard to source, so I'm thinking of using 2060 down 2 sides instead.

Everything else would remain as per the original shopping list.

Total per actuator currently at £114.

Any reasons why this isn't feasible? Are limit switches required?

    Thanks.
