    Quick update, basically I've had a nightmare with the oDrives , these things are not easy for a n00b like me.

    I have to give a massive big thank you to @RobsonSwiss hug: for helping me big time without him I would of given up with the oDrives weeks ago. Hopefully it will get easier for anyone else wanting to use them.

    So I've also had problems with the aluminium brazing rods, I bought twice and they were shit so 3rd time I bought real Durafix sticks and they work as they should. It's a lear ing curve again but hopefully I will get my frame done by the end of the week.
    This is how it's looking so far, I ran out of gas so 1 3rd complete, some cross bars to go on to strengthen it up a bit too.

    Well done @SilentChill. Great to see you got there.

    I was following along the threads in the support forums over at Odrive and I was surprised how some were having difficulty getting it running with end stops.
    I thought the setups we had seen of Odrive in other projects could be easily translated over to our linear actuators.
    After reading through the support threads, I thought the development of Odrive needs a little more time before its ready for us mere mortals.
    But then you pop up with it working! Well done. :cheers

    Nearly finished the frame, I'm unsure whether its gonna be strong enough. I think I should of designed it to be bolted together as the aluminium brazing/welding is not the best for this sort of thing but I'll see how it goes

    You have a lot of possibilities to make a lot of triangle with the shape you have.
    This is how I made my carbon tube platform hold out. Lots and lots of little triangles.

    Just a quick question - is there any tilt coordination going on? I can't tell if it tilts to the back on long turns to simulate sustained gforces.

I want to ask.you will do the video exactly how to set it up and what to write in the software.technical page of composing I can handle but I'm afraid to start not knowing how to connect and then in the pc run software. can you make a video from A-Z how to run it?
    I have the experience of simtool. i own 3 dof and thanos amc. but this was project is wonderful.

    Quick update, I've been a little delayed as I fried an oDrive , hopefully the new on e will be here early next week. In the mean time I've pretty much got everything mounted and ready for some proper full weight tests.

    Great work!!
    I can see your Odrives at the bottom left corner of the second picture... are there some encoder cables crossing near your Odrives? Dont do it!!! It took me months to find that my main EMI problems with odrive came from too close encoder cables!

    They are not connected at the moment just put to one side whilts I sort everything out and wait for my new odrive to arrive :)

    That's a bit concerning, do you know what caused the failure? Cooling required? - I fitted cooling fans to my DD Wheel drivers and the Sabertooth 2 x 32s that I use as insurance.

    No idea i connected the odrives via ETH to UART it heated up the odrive that much and that quick it fried it. I have tried the same way on a second one but instantly switched off when it started to do the same.

    Its an issue no one else has ever had and is pretty much unknown why. All that is connected is 3.3v GND and RX thats all so why it would melt the odrive I have no idea :(

    Did you check if there was a voltage differential between the earths?

    No, to be honest I wouldn't have a clue how to :D

    Its only when sending commends, or trying to, I can go into the ETH webpage and login and set all the settings and its powered by the odrive so nothing weird going on there i wouldnt think.

    Maybe lag is a cause or something making the odrive getting the wrong data and making it stall, I really have no idea at all, and nobody else seems to have an idea either

    Excellent work as ever, hope those odrives start behaving - they're not cheap kit. Why the additional bracing at shoulder level on the upper platform? I'd imagine just the frame under the seat should be rigid enough, though maybe helps to support the welds. I really like your wider flatter design but I have quite limited floor area so will have to go more compact - and try not to bang my head on the ceiling :)

    Thanks, there was just too much flex so the supports really really stiffen it up, I think 40mmx400mmx3mm would of been a better choice or even bigger to stop the flex. I'm happy with though at the moment.

    My biggest problem is head height I only have just over 2 metres but plenty of floor space. Even at full extension I'm maybe 50mm from the ceiling which is good.

    Triples to be added soon as I cant not play games anymore just because they have no VR lol :D
