    HI Thanos,

Is it possible to power multiple Servo drivers from one power socket? For example bridging two drivers?

Or is one powersocket + EMI filter required for each of the servo drivers?

    Greetings

One plug and filter for all drivers is the way to go.

In my case (6x1000W) it was theoretically possible for the six motors together to trip the 3800W breaker, but since they will normally never draw the max current all at the same time in reality it was OK to supply them all from a single line (240V, 16A).
There is however a reason to at least allow for them to be switched individually: When I switched all six controllers simultaneously over a single switch, there was a short initial draw of current that tripped the breaker every time. Switching them on one-by-one, even within just 2 seconds worked fine.

So, in my experience I'd say you can supply all six from a single line, but you should still be able to switch them individually.

    Cheers,... :)

This is an interesting observation. In my experience I have 14 servos on one 10a breaker and it only occasionally trips the breaker when I switch them all on at once (via a contactor) and never in use. Most of the drives are AASD15A but 4 of them are AASD20A. I wonder what the big difference is between our setups.

So if i would wire the power like this it would be fine? Obviously this is w/o the line filter and actuators connected.

I assume there are capacitors that are being charged when you switch on the drives. I am using 6 AASD20A. Maybe these have different capacitors...

If you look in the manual and the general consensus it would be wise to put a breaker in between the drives and the plug. But yes what you drew will work.

If you're worried about what size breaker just put a 10a on there. I had a 15a on mine and was curious if I put a ten on instead, if it would trip. As a mentioned above, it only trips when first turned on, and only sometimes.

Hi, I just finished my first actuator and had issue in Output Testing in SimTools. Actuator is not responding when I moved the slider. Here's some pictures attached and sorry I'm new to this and just building my actuators.

Anyone can help me much appreciated. Thanks

Hi, did you see the instructions in the manual? It could be the language system locale issue. Or missing FTDI drivers..

    Sorry for the late reply.

But a breaker like this will be fine? https://elektronica-online.nl/product/automatische-zekering-10a-15604

    It breaks at 10 amps
    Max voltage AC 240V
    Max voltage DC 48V

Or do i need a breaker more like this one?
    https://www.elektramat.nl/emat-inst...MIopyIlem_9AIViP93Ch1_tAQsEAQYASABEgLg0vD_BwE

Or is a 15 amps breaker more recommended?

    Thanks

    Hi,

The second link with the 16A breaker is fine, no need to find exactly 15A, the fuses standards change from country to country.

    Thanks

I used a 20ohm 10A thermistor in line with the 230VAC as surge protector. Never a tripped fuse again.

I wouldn't put it in the category that is the best, just each software has its advantages.

Simracingstudio just tends to be more plug and play with minimal tuning, and automated tasks. But you have less access to fiddle around. Much of it is blackboxed and is trying to give easy access to the gamer that jumped to PC from consoles. Just power on and play. Also less headaches for the user and for us too as less troubleshooting is needed.

See this video where the difference between software is explained a bit from the user perspective (around minute 28:08):

Also a later video of his where he shows the tuning steps with simracingstudio:

    Hi,

I just installed the servo drives on my motion rig and it only displays '0'. I tested the servo's with the actuators before installing a few weeks ago and it just worked fine. Is anyone known with this issue?

The screen does not display the "X" or "!" or "C" symbols for each servo, something is not right, you should be able to hot plug and detect each actuator and see the state of that actuator on the LCD:

I'd suggest do a factory restore of the parameters on the AMC controller using EXIT + RESET procedure. See the manual how: https://github.com/tronicgr/AMC-AAS...5A_4DOF+TL+Surge-SRS-Simtools_manual_v2_6.pdf

Then leave it set to 6 actuators, and just set correct leadscrew and stroke for the actuators...

Make sure you also have the latest firmware, if not, a update it according to the instructions here:
    https://github.com/tronicgr/AMC-AASD15A-Firmware/tree/master/Latest_firmware

    Thanks

Hi cfischer, Dirty, the difference may to be in the type of cct breaker used. There is a range of breaker styles, often referred to as "curves" available that are intended to cater for this kind of scenario, here is a wikipedia explanation:
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Circuit_breaker#Standard_current_ratings
From my readings, C curve breakers are readily available from local electrical outlets and should be quite suitable for our type of application.
