Yeah, if you have a different ppr than standard you have to use the full version.

Encoder is mounted under the board. I drilled motor shaft and added 3mm rod. Rod is riding in teflon tubing to prevent rubbing on wires. One end of the rod is fixed to motor outer shell, other end is connected to encoder.

Oh thanks what is that little breakout board between the Odrive and braking resistor? I assume the 6 pin connector is for his Thrustmaster steering wheel and pedals?

Its Mosfet board that control power delivered to breaking resistor. It cost ~3$ with shipping

okay it does not really matter what I use than?
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4001100515872.html this one looks the same
I assume the 40V 50A would be fine?
and a 50W 2R load resistor would be fine?

    Okay thanks a lot!
I'm also thinking about the powersupply, I was thinking about a linear powersupply is it true that I don't need a braking resistor if I use a linear powersupply?

But I think I will still go with a linear powersupply what specs does it need? I will be going for a meanwell powersupply than atleast 12V and how many amps?

I dont really know about linear power supply but the minimum amps should be like 20 amp in my case i'm using 12v 30A switching power supply

Oh sorry meant that I'm going for a switching powersupply

Oh jeez 20 amps?!? Was thinking like 10-12A. Thats also gonna be pretty expensive...

10A will do just fine, the motor won’t take much more than that for very long anyway.

I use an old computer psu to power mine. Cheap and powerful.

I got myself some hoverboards but I'm struggling with where to place the rotary encoder. I saw a picture from Roman Smoliakov using an AS5048A or AS5047D but it is not in the supported list on Github.[IMG]

Well it's kinda depend on how much you care about aesthetic for me i dont really care so I just hot glue the encoder on the motor mount It's look crappy i know But hey it's work and that's the point right? LOL

Yeah I do kinda care about the looks but I think I found a solution just using some pulleys and a belt. I ordered the parts just need to wait for them to arrive.
