I'm a newbie building my first 2dof setup. Am am running the V3 beta with the GT7 plugin to testout my setup. The app keeps exiting on me. I start the plugin and the game is running on the ps5. Once I start the GT7Proxy and data starts making it to the plugin after a second or two, the app just disappears. I have tried different ordering of what starts first with no change.

Any ideas on what to try or how to debug whats going on?

    Thanks,
    Michael

Before getting into the possible complexities of a new plugin, can you please confirm that Live For Speed works as expected, given it is used as a reference plugin?

Yeah, I thought of that after posting. I have Assetto Corsa installed and it worked as expected with 2dof working. LFS plugin worked but i didn't see any 2dof motion. Interestingly, when I exit LFS, the simtools app exits as well - Tried it twice

    Big Update Pushed! :thumbs
    upload_2023-1-3_22-31-33.png

Added - Game plugins can now have built in support for UDP Relaying to other apps. (the plugin needs to support it)
Added - 'Soft' page opening and closing added the virtual window and the UDP relaying window too.
Fixed - Registration error that may cause a entertainment license to error.
Fixed - An error found in the banner update routine that caused 2 banners to download at every startup.
Fixed - Virtual window now closes cleanly when exiting v3.
Updated - The game banner's pic menu with more functionality. (And now ready for skinning)
Updated - Packet Relay and Dash's 3d output data to the data pages for all game plugins.
Updated - Updated the SimTools forms that may fix some scaling issues for some people.
Updated - Washout filter controls for the standard and advances axis plugins. (Works the same, but the settings make a lot more sense.)
Updated - Game patching so SimTools detect the correct game when game plugins use the same 'process name' to detect the game as running.
Updated - The coffee I’m drinking to be a more efficient programmer.

You can now check online if udp relaying is supported for a given plugin from its data page.

With a plugin that supports UDP Relaying, you will see a Packet Relay icon on it's game banner menu.
    upload_2023-1-3_22-36-57.png

With the window open, add the port to send too (and IP if not on the same PC) and click close.
(You can click reset and close to remove the setting too.)
    upload_2023-1-3_22-40-24.png

UDP Relaying enabled for a game will look like this.
    upload_2023-1-3_22-39-45.png

If you have any questions, you know what to do!
Only F1 2022 has been updated for the UDP relay at this time.
But more game plugins will be updated with udp relaying soon. :cheers
    Take care,

Try updating to the latest version of SimTools v2 before trying to register v3 Beta, as that has some license related fixes: https://www.xsimulator.net/community/marketplace/categories/simtools.37/

Yo yobuddy, 1st of all I have to say thanks for your work on that masterpiece in coding skills, and especially for the last update. Got a lil question about your gamePlugins, I downloaded a bunch of plugins and all of them are very similiar (I am new in that motion thing so it might be wrong), all of them have Sway, Surge and Heave and mostly at 50-50-5. I got a 2DOF system would it be possible to have Pitch/Roll and Surge/Sway with that 2 motors?

Thanks is advance and have a nice Weekend bro :D

SimTools v3 is in Beta testing, not all plugins are supported yet, so use DCS 0n v2 instead, it can run on the same PC.

Yes, in axis assignments, we can configure the output anyway we want to.
I suggest you try using one DOF at a time on your sim, just to see how the sim reacts to it.
You will find that surge and sway react to the drivers inputs well being g-forces.
Where roll and the pitch are simply the cars resting position in the game, so the output reacts to the roads pitch and roll changes well.
Once you have played with all the DOFs you want to use, you can add all the ones you want to use (and adjust the percent total of the axis to 100 to 120% or so), and you are golden!

thanks alot for helping out, may I ask you what would you prefer to use because all of your plugins have Sway, Surge and Heave at 50/50/5 is that reacting the same like when I set that up with Pitch/Roll and Surge/Sway?

Well the axis should total 100% to 120% or so.
So maybe 35% sway and surge, 15% pitch and roll, and 5% heave.
    Hope that helps,
    yobuddy

    Hello,

I try to explain that I want to do with a picture (karting is the most to have a top side view)

In a real car when you feel a sway effort you counter it with your arm and apply an effort on your steering wheel opposing to his force and tackle your shoulders in the bucket seat.

To simulate it on my G-seat i would apply a fraction of sway effort on the surge axis to oblige pilot to counter it and create this artificial sensation.

If I understand correctly, both flaps would work together when there is Surge.

Where with sway, only one flap (pushes) depending on the sway direction.
If sway is positive, the right flap pushed, if sway is negative, the left flap pushes.

If you agree with me on how it should work, then I don't understand needing the absolute value for a axis is all?
    Chat soon buddy!
