    Hi,

there is new Firmware update with new function and improvements

    Version 1.47

Attention: - eeprom data changed _ after flashing do factory reset !

    - fixed some servo7 bugs
    - fixed linear actuators "safety" setting bug (safety >pitch) thanks @Dirty
    - added function for servobrakes (switch extra01 Pin)
    - added new transition to motion
    - added adjustable time for transition to motion
    - added offset for linear actuators
    - added adjustable Position for transition to motion (also direct from parkposition)
    - added adjustable maximum setting for Master Gain
    - improved actuator check function (also while homing)
    - added shutdown function (drives actuators down to homing point and powers servos off; turn left in menu )
    - smaller changes in menu texts
    - some value checks added
    - most new settings only from handheld adjustable actually

latest firmware is powering this Giant 6dof Stewart Platform with and endless slew 360 degree actuator like yaw VR has.

thanks for sharing the video to Koen from NL

I had some time to advance my project. i started to develop a new board in the summer of last year and have now made it ready for production. this was also necessary because atmel had announced that it would discontinue the development board I had been using due to the worldwide lack of chips. and that's how it happened. I have also further developed the firmware. The next version will support the kinematics for all sfx and other rigs. So with traction los surge and double TL.
so that the 6dof data can be sent directly to the controller. motor positions then no longer have to be calculated externally.

the handheld will be supported too and there is also a display version available.

the motion4sim dashboard app has also improved
it is now possible to carry out the entire configuration via the app.

    features:
    - controlling all functions
    - support for gamepad buttons to control
    - kinematics for many rigs 3dof - 6dof (next fw release)
    - options for testing actuators
    - firmware updating
    - bypass motion data via mmf file from mover or simtools so that the dashboard can controll the rig

for all these new possibilities i have to completely revise the manual next....

there is a lot to do..

    a nice time for you

Hello everyone, I am sharing a video from an m4s controller user @Dirty who has built a really great 6 dof rig and in his video shows very clearly how well his new motion cueing system "YAME" works. many thanks for this video.

Hi i am not sure what you are really asking for. Do you want to know if the m4s controller is working with your motion rig or the the yame motion cueing Software. There is another thread on this forum you were asking for simtools. If simtools doesn't work you will have also no luck. Can you provide more Information about your rig? For questions about the thanos amc please ask thanos in his thread .

    Thank you

Is the pinout compatible with that of the Thanos controller (AASD15) or do I need to make a new cable for the controller?

    Hi @Mat_Menzies ,

I'm starting to write Python code for RS485 modbus rtu communication. For now, there are only the 2 first Pn000 and Pn001 functions. I'll extend, but there are almost 300 functions, so it will take time! I will test with motor only and let you know. Here is the code:
    https://github.com/looninho/6DOF/tree/master

I was thinking like you, so I give a try with RS485 and later I'll go for a M4S controller because I'm in the begining of buildint an actuator.

I have a question for @Motion4Sim : Do you use also COM port to communicate with your M4S controller? If so I don't understand why you can go faster the the serial baudrate. For example : if the game sends data by serial to M4S at t0, the M4S will receive at t0 + dt the M4S add very small dt2 to send to the rig. Compare to the software solution, only the dt2 can make different? But I'm agree with throw the job to a external resource is the best solution.

    Bests

    Hi Loon,
good luck with the RS485 interface. I purchased controllers that are not identical to the AASD controller so the configuration is different. Your efforts to configure the AASD controller via serial port will be appreciated by other members, but I wont be able to take advantage :)

In response to your question to M4Sim (please correct me if I'm wrong), the M4Sim board interfaces to the PC via USB and to the controller via the CN2 controller port. No COM ports used.

But if you have your AASD's documentation, you can find your communication fonctions. Mine are PnXXX, FnXXX and DnXXX, almost 300 functions in total.
Now there are opensource packages like pymodbus to do all the low level job. It's very simple to send a request and receive a response with modbus protocol.

    Cheers

Hi @Motion4Sim, do you have a discord channel or Facebook group?

I'm still trying to get your controller to work and have a few questions. How do I get support?

    Thank you.

So no discord channel / user group support? Would be good to get the experience from other users as well.

    And what is his email?
