    The patch does not ask for the path.. When Simtools is installed, it shows a message that the patch was successfully installed.. When starting the game, the game engine shows that it is in game, but the platform does not move.

    confirmed that the plugin does not work with the version purchased from Origin. I bought it through steam and now it works perfectly.

    Hi, all.
    I'm having trouble following this thread because it appears we have discussions about two different Squadrons plugins going simultaneously. I followed the instructions quoted above, then entered my settings in Game Engine, then installed the patch through Game Manager. I launched through Steam. The game still runs fine, but no motion. Can someone please tell me if I'm missing steps?

    Update: I got it working by swapping in the plugin from @paulopsx2 (post #62 in this thread). I've never played a game where motion is tied directly to the joystick data. Interesting. Not as immersive, but the immediate response is certainly fun.

    Hate to ask, it must be alot of work, but I'm really liking STv3 and I'd like to use it exclusively without having to exit and launch 2.6 to play Squadrons.

    I have Squadrons Steam Version and it works for me. Did you have movement before? Are you using SimTools v3? It won't work with v3 right now.

    Is this the first time you use the plugin? There's a special setup if this is your first time:

    1. Renam starwarssquadrons_launcher.exe to starwarssquadrons_oldlauncher.exe
    2. Under a command line with administrator privileges, I went to the \SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\STAR WARS Squadrons\ folder and typed in the following command:
    mklink starwarssquadrons_launcher.exe starwarssquadrons.exe
    This will create a symbolic link from the launcher filename to the real main.exe
    3. In the Windows explorer, open the properties dialog of the symbolic link icon and tick the box "read-only" so that it won't be automatically replaced (not sure it's bullet proof though).
    4. To launch the game, do not start the main exe directly but simply click on the start button in Steam. You can even directly launch Squadrons in VR mode.

    first of all thank you for this achievement
    unfortunately it doesn't work for me

    I uninstalled easy cheat as indicated in the discussions
    we feel that simtools starts but as a result the game is blocked by it asks me to install easy cheat
    any solution please?
