So I am updating my view on Traction loss, and invite anyone to correct me if I am wrong,... but there is not allot of information on this topic available so its just me piecing things together...

Traction loss in most plugins is actually simple,... it is the Velocity on the y axis, that is the side to side axis of the vehicle.

    934714.fig.001.jpg

And that is what I have in the latest plugin, ... I noticed as well as others that traction loss still felt off. Maybe I can smooth that out some in the telemetry server side. put it through a kalman filter or just average it,...

Before I was going off and calculating side slip angles and scaling that with the acceleration vector and all that fun stuff....it seems to be much simpler than that.... unless anyone else can chime in?

I have achieved a good loss of traction movement but using the Yaw instead of the extra1

I find this suspect, yaw should be a continuous change from 0 to 360 degree depending on what direction you are facing.

Gentlemen, I have added a filter to the y velocity value, this helps greatly to sort the erratic behavior that I was getting on trac loss.

I will make a new video showing this function.

I have updated the github project both code and compiled version, only compiled one that changed was the GTAVhook dll

i recommend for traction loss use extra_3 (min/max = -25/25 ) so far works well for me
    pitch,roll,yaw,surge,sway,heave - rotationAccelerationX(extra1),rotationAccelerationY(extra2),tractionLoss(extra3)

Yaw is rotation around a central pivot point, TL pivots from somewhere around your feet they are 2 distinct and different motion effects.

Alright dudes, I have uploaded a video showing the result of the traction loss changes, I am satisfied. I ended up adding a averaging filter to the raw data stream to smooth it out.

Definitely. Steam version with LukeRoss' VR, TM and enhanced trainer. Vive Pro and OVRIE. All working together.
However, with all new arrivals in flightsims (DCS, IL-2, WT) I switched my gear back to flight controls...

Can you play online with those steering wheel mods? the x360ce program used for any controller can get you banned. Thanks

It is ok specially F1 races with random crazy people. I want a wheel to be more accurate on corners. You can be beaten by kids with just a keyboard lol

Hi, great job done here ! Does it work on the Standalone version of GTA V, or only on Steam version ?
(I run standalone version, with wheel mod, and I’d love to make my motion sim alive on it).

I'm trying to get the plugin that came with Manual Transmission mod to work with the NLR v3. The buttkicker is working but the motion is not, even though the diagnostic tool shows data coming in on a bunch of different graphs. I don't know enough to make sense of all of them, but I would think it should be working. I tried FH4 just to make sure the motion platform was still communicating with Platform Manager in general, and it was indeed working.

    Any advice for me?

it will only output data while you are in a vehicle, .. but there could certainly be other things going on. ... i am just going off your screenshot... you are not in a vehicle.
