I tried fs2020 and was unable to replicate the reversed surge, so that on is either not consistent or was just me. The dcs swap and being unable to reconnect both persist.

We found no problem with fs2020 and no problem with DCS either.
We are also able to reconnect with both plugins.
So I'm not seeing any problems here at this time.

Setting a Launch Path – You may find that some game plugins do not set a launch path for a given game plugin, or the path is setup for a different version of the game than you have installed. To update a launch path for any game plugin, simply drag and drop the games exe or shortcut on the banner for the given game plugin.

Is there no more profile editor, to set the amount of each effect? This was in v2.x in the game manager located.

and is there a upgrade from diy license to pro option? I would like to have vibe as well instead of simhub, that only one program is for motion and bass shaker.

    Hi @Michail
In SimTools v2 we only have one set of Max/Min settings for the whole game. You could then adjust the Max/Min values by up to 50% +- with the game manager profile editor. However in SimTools v3, profiles have their own set of Max/Min settings.
So in short, the blue sliders on the bottom of the Max/Min page, are the equivalent of the v2 profile editor. (as all it did in v2 is adjust the Max/Min settings anyway)

If you log into SimTools.us and view your license, you will see an upgrade option there.
Buzz me if you need any help buddy,
    Take care!

Hi Rodrigomarcos1978! Same problem here. I was really close solving it, I was able see motion values in min/max window, numbers were running like grazy. But my rig did not move. I don't know why.

What I did was following this guide:

"Here is what I did (and this works for me):
    1. I renamed starwarssquadrons_launcher.exe to starwarssquadrons_oldlauncher.exe
    2. Under a command line with administrator privileges, I went to the \SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\STAR WARS Squadrons\ folder and typed in the following command:
    mklink starwarssquadrons_launcher.exe starwarssquadrons.exe
This will create a symbolic link from the launcher filename to the real main.exe
    3. In the Windows explorer, open the properties dialog of the symbolic link icon and tick the box "read-only" so that it won't be automatically replaced (not sure it's bullet proof though).

To launch the game, do not start the main exe directly but simply click on the start button in Steam. You can even directly launch Squadrons in VR mode."

    I hope this helps you!

    Hi,

I'v been using v3 beta for a while now and it has been fantastic. Now I have a little problem. Recently (always same titles like AMS2 AC and same cars) my rig movement has been somewhat "jagged". Same profiles, no changes other than Simtools updates.

What is happening is this: I feel like car movement does not give rig movement like it used to. For example body roll happens like there if there were "steps". At first, not much happens and then rig moves in steps. Rig does not move smoothly, instead is goes those "levels" downwards and upwards and makes s little noise. At first it feels like it does not get enough info from the game and then it gets too much, too fast.

I have updated v3 always to the latest version. Should I have done something else?

Even if I record new min/max values, values does not change that much. I have to tune min/max values little higher to get rid of extra noise. But then I lose the touch to car movements.

What about Windows COM-ports? I have moved my PC to another location and I connected it to a different USB-port for a while. COM changed from COM3to COM7. I changed back to previous USB-port and set Simtools back to COM3.

Does it matter what parameters there are in Device Manager for COM port? If bits per sec rate is 9600 for COM3, is it ok? I have never touched those values. Simtools is set to 50000 bits per sec rate.

Any ideas what could be the issue here?

I really appriciate all the help and comments. Thx in advance!

    EDIT:
Q: What happens when I update game plugin and select to update min/max file?

I recorded really high roll rate values today with AMS2 with Porsche GT3 (value 278), in normal clean driving. Previous value was around 70. After that change my rig seems quite normal. Maybe I have to record new roll and pitch rates for other every car...

SCN works smooth good but HYPERAXIS has issue spiking every 0.3sec. Thanks in advance.

    Hi Shige,
    Hope you are well buddy.
The SCN and the HyperAXIS interface plugin, is actually the same plugin with the only difference being the HyperAXIS uses a different speed to initialize. So it seems strange that one would work perfectly, and the other does not. I will take a peek at the HyperAXIS code thou, and see if I can see anything.

    Hello everyone,

I'm currently in the process of taking my rig to the next level and have a question regarding axis assignment, specifically within the "Generic 2D Advance" plugin. Following the tutorial from SCK Gaming

    https://www.xsimulator.net/communit...2dof-project-videotutorial.16214/#post-217896

, we're advised to set the axis limitation to 85%. When setting the output type to 153°, does this mean it's 85% of 153°, or 85% of the full 180°? Since 85% of 180° equals 153°, I'm a bit confused. Therefore, if I want to limit the range to only 120°, should I enter 67%, 120°, or both?

Thank you in advance for your help and clarification.

Refining a motion profile is part science, part experience, and both very dependent on personal preference.

For me that means no axis limitation unless there is a good reason, such as using SCN actuators that are very fragile if over extended, and I leave rotation at defaults, while initially dialing each axis in one by one: https://www.xsimulator.net/community/faq/steps-to-create-a-motion-profile.228/

If you don't set a limitation, how do you then adjust to the 38 to 40 degrees per direction that you often advocate for in the forum? I have already read the reference on how to create a profile; I just want to know if the percentages are calculated from the degree setting in output type or from 180 degrees?!

The range of lever motion is set with the controller, not SimTools, so for example SMC3 or the JRK app.

The 38-40 degrees is just a recommendation, as it is around that point that affective use of torque drops off rapidly.

I thought it worked fine both before latest update. I prefer the behavior of HyperAXIS plugin that moves shrunk to the center at the starting is good for me than shrunk>extend >stop at center of SCN plugin. Thank you!

I got update notification for "up arrow" in blue, but I don't know what's to update. I have restarted the app but still in blue.

EDIT : OK, I think LMU that needs update.

Do you can explain how to setup in SMC3? With the max limits?

    Fron the SMC3 instructions: https://www.xsimulator.net/communit...driver-and-windows-utilities.4957/#post-48121

Clip Input Used to create a band at either limit of the target range beyond which any values sent to the SMC3 are clipped. In addition to this clipping, if the motor feedback does move beyond this range (typically through inertia), the SMC3 will attempt to brake the motors hard by driving them in reverse until they are back out of this limit zone. The value can be anything from 0-255 (however can’t be less than the current limit setting). Reverse braking is applied in the band between the Clip Input and the Max Limit settings. Reverse braking can be disabled - refer to PWMrev.

Max Limits Used to create a band at either limit of the feedback range beyond which if the motors move (typically through inertia) the SMC3 will automatically shutdown the drivers and keep them disabled until reset. This is essentially a safety mechanism if something goes wrong. The value can be between 0-255 (however can’t be greater than the current clip setting).

So I have to set for 120° the clip limit to 170 and max limit 180 of 255 to stop at 66.667 % right?
Leave the Axis limit and output type untouched in simtools?? Will SMC3 than convert tha values from 180 ° in a range of 120° like th TV does with th dynamic tone mapping? I would like to allocate 120° thats to be the sum of all effects (e.g. surge, pitch, heave etc.) =100%
