    Hello. I've been trying to set up SimTools 3.0 for a long time and my success is so-so. The main problem is that I don't understand how the heave setting works in almost all games. One gets the feeling that a very limited amount of data is being transferred. I tried to copy the settings from simtools 2.6, it didn't lead to anything. Very little movement. I tried to adjust the min/nax settings, and I get either strong shocks or no movement. Simtools 2.6 has a constant stream of data that creates the effect of vibration from the road surface. What am I doing wrong?

    @yobuddy, thank you for clarifying.

    The lever goes down because, I believe, I haven’t set up the PWM minimum correctly; instead of setting it, I should have set it to 0.

    The parking location and speed work really well! I’ve adjusted it to a lower rig for easier entry and exit.

    By setting the axis limit to 67% each, I am now quite accurate in achieving my goal of 120 degrees.

    Allocating about 145% to each axis, I am very pleased with the result.

    Is it possible to prioritize the degree of freedom (DOF) selection? This way, we could choose which DOF takes precedence when both are engaged, and which SimTools is prioritizing.

    Imagine driving down a hill while accelerating. The simulator needs to tilt backwards due to the acceleration and forwards because of the downhill slope.

    Similarly, on the Daytona high-speed curve, the 2 DOF of sway and roll cancel each other out.

    The app cannot be closed by “quit” but can only be put in the tray. What is the thinking behind it? For me that didn't make sense even with V2. The simulator can only be started with a double click, but stopped with a single click. Wouldn't it be nicer to do both with a single click?

    Have you tried adding a bit of smoothing to the rate outputs?
    Just wondering if it helps you situation is all.

    You need to use the UDP Relay from the F1 2023 games banner in v3 and to forward the packets to simhub.
    (also, I believe SimHub auto patches games, so you may need to turn this off too)

    I have not seen any problem over here, but will check again on tomorrow.

    What interface are you using buddy?

    You probably just need bigger Max/Min settings for heave, but if you post pics, we can look it over.

    I believe no matter which DOF takes precedence, the actuator is still maxed out, and therefore in the same location. So I don't think it matters which DOF pushes the actuator to its limits.

    Because both apps can be run from the systray, simply detecting the games you launch, and kicking into action.
    Lot's of apps work this way, take steam for example.

    The double click is there to stop accidental game launches. Because accidentally launching a game kinda stinks. Since we double click exe files to launch something, it just seemed to make sense is all. And is way better than a popup asking me if I really want to start the game each time I think.

    I'v been investigating heave too, with AMS2 and iRacing. My rig has been working like that lately, too: a bit too strong and harsh at "normal" values, and very little movement or no movement at all when is min/max is set higher. I seem to have lost that "suspension" feeling with cars. I can´t figure out why.

    You might want to check this in your PC, if you are driving iRacing. Today I noticed this, I wonder it this is normal: In iRacing when a car is stationary at the pits (Mazda MX-5 or Kia Optima) there is constant 0,99 heave. I mean, car is at level tarmac and it gives nearly 1 heave. Why? I wonder it that pluging is working normally? I recorded mix/max values for heave while driving around at Lédenon. Result was -0 and 2,79. It this normal, zero heave to negative direction, even when driving steep downhills/uphills?

    EDIT: When I first tried v3 beta it felt amazingly good. But lately no so much. Sometihng has changed, but what...?

    Any comments on that = 0/2,79 heave thing?

    What about Profile intensity? I did not quite understand changes. I'm running 95-99 like I used to do with v2.x. Do I need to use it differently?

    Ok. Thats my settings in simtools 3.0 and in 2.6
    In addition to the problems described above, I also noticed that in SimTools 3.0 there is a strange behavior that the heave disappears even with a minimal turn of the steering wheel. Both in Lemans Ultimate and in Iracing I clearly observed such an effect.

    The game outputs the data with gravity included, which is 1g so that's what you are seeing. Extra 2 is heave -1 for a quick fix. This plugin is basically the v2 plugin updated for v3, and will receive some fixes before its finished. We are about 60% of the way thru all the plugins now looking for proper direction, adding traction loss for vibe, and a few other fixes too. This title is still on the list, we will get there shortly.

    IRacing could happen with a bank, lemaus the data is directly from the game so it should be good to go.

    Please try setting the value for extra 2 to +1.5 and -1.5

    You can increase heave to 20% if you want, but I would not go much over that.

    Adding washout helped the issues with the rig chattering, thank you! I read the V3 manual regarding washout, but I'm not clear on how the effect is applied. The filter has a range going from -97 to +97, but where should I start it? If anyone could clarify how the setting works I'd appreciate it. I did try it in the rig at both extremes, but I'm having trouble understanding the differences.

    (Start with both the Gain and Return values for washout set to 1)
    The best way to see how this works, is to open the Sliders virtual plugin, and then goto axis assignments and click Test Settings. Now you can move a slider that is attached to washout. (Surge rate, Sway rate) The Sliders virtual plugin will show you what the output is doing.
    Buzz me if this does not help buddy.

    (note: washout is next on my list for polish up for a full release, so the values may change a bit in future versions - mainly the return speed is not fast enough right now I think.)

    So it looks like my Brunner FFB joystick and Simtools are somehow conflicting in DCS.

    I re-installed the Brunner drivers, and lost motion. I suspected it over-wrote the export.lua so I removed (deleted?) the DCS Simtools plugin. When I re-installed the DCS plugin, my saved profile was nowhere to be found. Do you lose saved profiles when you delete the plugin? Any way to recover them?

    I've been away from DCS for 3 years, so I have to re-familiarize myself with the export.lua stuff. I should have saved a backup of them before making any changes.
