Note: My motors are in opposite direction from each other (hence "Dir" swap for sway, heave and surge to get the chair moving the same way)

    Added my Interface settings:

    Note:
    • I'm assuming that SimTools 3 (ST3) is a stable working version, but I'm doubting that as my post was moved here to a "public beta"
      • If I'm new and setting up for the first time is it better for me to be using SimTools 2 (ST2) (long term stable) or ST3 (seems to be in beta)? I.e. can I trust game profiles in ST3 vs ST2?
      • QUESTION: Has anyone else used ST3 and War Thunder Profile successfully (Just to give me confidents that I need to keep working on it)?
    • I didn't include capture for Min/Max Tuning, Axis limits, Parking location or Crash detection as they are all default (I haven't explored them yet)
    • Additional War Thunder output notes:
      • Pitch doesn't seem to do anything (I tried a large value of 100% to make sure it wasn't moving at all)
      • Roll Rate doesn't seem to do anything
      • Pitch Rate is "janky" I.e. I was getting weird movements so I turned it off.
        • As I think about it though if "Roll" is acting like "Pitch" could the "Pitch Rate" be acting like "Roll" maybe some "wires" are crossed?
    • My Output settings are: upload_2024-10-19_11-20-53.png
    • For reference No Limits Game works great and this is the Axis Assignments I have for it: upload_2024-10-19_11-22-2.png

Additional info (I couldn't edit my post above due to 1 min time limit):
    • I am setting up the "Force" 1 at a time so that I don't have interfering input/output.
    • I'm changing my "dir" for War Thunder to Axis 2 (to match No Limits) and will post on how it goes.

can really get WT to work a all also man, rig only move when changing vehicles... but not in the game inself...

Ive problem with dirt 2.0 works perfectly on a monitor... no motion at all when in VR

Why do you need a monitor if you are in VR? I guess if it is for other people to watch wouldn't it be a VR setting like in Steam VR you have the "Display VR View" as an option in the main settings. Then others can "see" what you are seeing.

I mean dirt 2.0 works with motion when played on monitor, when game is in VR ive no telemetry in SMT3 and no motion...
Windows MRP always run game on a monitor regardless...

Please note Re: War Thunder Plugin for ST3 (SimTools 3) I think there is something wrong with the plugin or the game output as I got the IL2S (IL 2 Sturmovik) working with the following settings.
    upload_2024-10-19_16-8-37.png

For the War Thunder Plugin I got "Pitch" working by assigning either "surge" or "Roll" and fiddling with the dir. But it is not intuitive I.e. "Roll" force is giving "Pitch" like responses. I can't get any of the forces to simulate "Roll" so not sure what else I could add (except I'm sure it isn't the rig as IL2 and NoLimits2 were both configured without much issue).

Re: War Thunder on ST3 I was reading through the forum on War Thunder Plugin for ST2 and it mentioned http://127.0.0.1:8111/ is sending the data it needs. Is this also required on the ST3 plugin?

I will try tomorrow and update results.

My system is large with three actuators and a fourth for rotation. It's similar to a hexapod but it only has three actuators at 90 degree instead of six.

Do I understand that I use the the Generic 3D Rotating plugin as a base? If so how do I change how many motors it has? Otherwise it's trying to use more than I have.

The Generic 2D Standard plugin will work nicely with this sim setup.
    Take care!

When the plugin is installed, it will patch both the monitor telemetry file, and the vr telemetry file if found. My guess is the plugin was installed before you played the game in vr?

Anyway, an easy fix is to remove the plugin from SimTools (little trash can). Then restart SimTools and re-install the plugin (and this time it should path the vr file also).
Please let me know how it goes.

I don't fully understand these settings. The speed output is just speed and is really only there to spin a fan, I would not use this input for motion is all. And if the roll dof has output going in the same direction (2 green double arrows) then I would think sway would also have matching directions.
    upload_2024-10-20_0-35-48.png

I suggest trying each dof separately when building a profile, so you can really see if each dof is doing what it should. (simply setting the percent used for the other dof's to zero for the time being works)

As it is right now, when you click 'Test Settings' does both roll and sway work?

    Thank you for the input:
    • I will remove speed (I had mistaken it for additional "surge" like force), thank you for the information.
    • Note: I have been setting up the system one axis at a time but didn't have the understanding about what each force should be doing so still learning :)
    • I am learning more about the forces so I agree the settings are incorrect but pitch and roll do work.
    • Roll is the same direction because my motors are mounted opposite of each other so for pitch I have to switch one of them around.
      • QUESTION: For Sway I'm trying to understand if it acts like roll or the g-force that a turn would make. e.g. If I'm (in a plane) and roll "right" should the sway be "right" also or should it be opposite (to the left)?
    • I'm not sure how to emulate "Heave" on a 2 DOF as only the "front" (front mounted motors) is moving.
      • QUESTION: Is "Surge" (on a 2DOF) the "opposite of Heave"? or has nothing to do with it really because it is a "up/down" motion.
    • My understanding so far (please reply if it is correct):
      • Roll - The plane rolling on the "x" (nose to tail) axis.
      • Pitch - The plane "climbing" or "diving" on the "y" axis (left to right)
      • Yaw - The planes movement on the "z" axis(caused by the rudder). (my 2DOF dosen't currently have this though I am hopping to add it in the future with "traction loss" (which isn't truly Yaw but easier to implement))
      • ?Sway? - The G-Force (left and right on "y" axis) felt when rolling and or turning?
      • Heave - The G-Force up and down motion on the "z" axis (Seems hard to emulate on a 2 or 3 DOF system)
      • Surge - The G-Force felt (on y axis) when taking off or breaking. Pitch back when taking off and pitch forward when breaking on landing

Roll is simply the degrees the vehicle is leaning at, where sway is the gforces applied to the vehicle. So when you go around a corner to the right, the vehicle should lean to the left, or away from the corner.

    This should help I think.
