    Some frame welding.

That seat looks almost exactly like my old seat. The reclining is convenient but is a wel point in terms of stiffness.

It really seems veri stiff, At first I thought that it will need some supporting tubes but now it seems very stiff. I think I have to drive it day or two and see if here is something to modifyi. Of course I don't know if it is difference when it is in 2dof use than now...maybe I just overkill it right away.

I'm from Finland, by the way. I wonder if there are other enthusiasts from Finland here?

I thought that this kind of supporting beam would make it rock solid. It of course makes harder to get out form the seat.

This shows it is quite sturdy... IMG_20250221_001811495_HDR.jpg

More progress made. Thread inserts welded inside tubes for the seat, shifters attachment in progress and more some supporting pipes and steel plates added. It is still very lightweight, I will weight it when it's done.

    And again more supporting structure.

What is the expected mass of the frame and user?

The higher the mass the greater the motor power required to control it and, importantly, inertia.

Frame is about 35-40kg with seat, wheel and shifter.

this is just an estimate. i have no idea what it actually is, i just lift it up in the air and judge from it but I will weight it tomorrow.

I saw this video and I started thinking, is this solution somehow unusual? Has anyone done it this way? There is vertical movement in that model but I guess it requires motor power and the tilting back and forth is not done in the same way as in the commonly handled model. Anyone have any thoughts on this?

I meant that the forward and backward tilt is next to nothing.

Weight is 35kg with seat, shifter, wheel and pedals and I'm 97kg. Is that good or bad? Maybe those 500w motors will have enough power?

Here is what I have simulated with simcalc. There is also picture how I'm gonna place motors and uniball rods,
I only put together the right side for the sake of the example.

This top part where wheel base is attached gives little flexing from side to side. I trying to think where I should maybe add some support. It may not need any but if it does, is someone who can give me advice?

Is it side to side flex or a slight torsional twist?

Mostly side to side and some up and down. I didn't know about torsional twist, I
need to look into it more.
