I really cant tell you how much you all need to sit on a DC powered 6DOF. Its quick sharp and you feel everything instantly I have dirt rally setup so good now. Like when you do a little jump and then the wheels hit the ground and you get the heave but then you get the surge as the wheels hit the ground and get traction and it pushes you back. Thats just one example I can think of. My 6DOF is as quick as any other 2dof or 3dof out there thats for sure, with VR thrown into the mix after about 10 minutes you feel like your in the game.

Any Graph's to back up those speed claims ? And i could easily agree without even having experienced it yet. Ive "fallen into the rabbit hole" on many occasion's with No VR, I could only imagine it With. Q1 2016 cant come soon enough

See thats a 2DOF doing its thing

And thats another graph, So obviously by looking at the 2 graphs it shows that what I said is true :nerd

yes @SilentChill im excited bout my new project (6 dof dc). want to start now but gotta wait another month or two when my busy season ends. yes my full frame 2 dof moves at about 450mm/s. it will sometimes knock the wind out of me on rapid direction changes. when im headed for the wall i brace cause it rocks me pretty good. not injury bad but enough to get your attention.

The 4+cm/s is calculated speed. So I'm pretty sure the actual speed with loads is less. I would love to get an actual measurement is there a way get the actual speed. And I don't have a radar gun so that's not an option. How did you graph that @SilentChill ?

Don't have a graph:) , but I do have a digital tachometer, which confirms that due to the motor controllers PID, the actual speed that the motor reaches can vary quite a bit due to how hard it is driven at any given time and what load it has at that time. So working out a rigs speed base on its motor/gearbox unloaded top speed is not that accurate.

Motor mount and pot mounting drawing done. I decided to use 180degree pot I have and try that out first.

Will build a 2DOF moving platform first, then later might add surge or traction loss, depend on how the 2DOF feel first.

I always wondered how the seat movers felt, never tried one as I also thought it would be odd that your are moving, but the steering wheel (and pedals?) are not.....

I've only tried what I have, and that is Dbox 2Dof, I can tell you that it certainly is quick and gives you the thuds and whacks...

Although I have the 1.5" system, I've had friends come off looking very white with motion sickness.

Anyway, I think it's whatever you are happy with and enjoy.

Cheers, mate sounds good but I'm in Brisbane.

Sometime I travel interstate for work, so if I'm ever in Sydney I'll give you a heads up....

Visa Versa, if you're even in Brisbane, give me a yell!

hello, motor mounts which allow full 360° turn, are a must.
If there is any pb in your hardware/software system, you don't break or damage your sim. ;)
And if your pot coupling is neat, you don't even break it.
    yours
