how about filter smoothing in axis editing. the higher the setting the less sensitivity, similar to higher number under tuning center?

Absolutely, Smoothing will remove "steps" from the overall motion of said Axis your playing with.

Have you gone thought each individual force One at a time to 100% ensure its correct ?

Also testing on Monza 66 isn't exactly ideal, Try Something with some pitch/roll circumstances and Ill also suggest something a little slower and not as highly dampened. You can tweek the heave forces later, we need to get the other forces working right first.

So what track would you recommend for testing? I did do each force separately, I thought it responds well but I am not exactly sure what is to expect.

There's no right or Wrong track really, All of Kunos scans are of Very high quality and each track will offer something special. From Silverstone with its Super Fast maggots/becketts/chapel to the Tight and quick lap of Magione to the Nice flowing Mugello, Then if you want to get crazy go for a Spin around the Green Hell, That has a little of everything.

Have you watched many Onboards from drivers ?

Hi everyone. Took a break for the summer since there are better things to do than work in the basement. Also completed this little project with my son. Motorized skateboard, goes up to 17 mph for about 9 miles on a single charge.
    IMG_8211.JPG

Started working on a sim again. Had to replace an entire front end. I tried to reuse parts from a play seat originally, but because it is intended to sit on the floor it was way too wobbly. So I took it off, installed new channels, etc. Pretty happy with the results.

My next step is to get a new video card and Oculus. I already purchased Thrustmaster HOTAS Warthdog so that would be the following step.

    Regards everyone.

So I took advantage of $100 gift card offered at Microsoft store with the purchase of Oculus Rift and pulled the trigger. On their web site they recommend NVIDIA GTX 970 or AMD Radeon R9 290 equivalent or greater video card. I am assuming that 970 has been replaced with 1070. So I looked around on Newegg and Amazon and there are so many choices available. If someone could recommend a card I would greatly appreciate it. Obviously $ is consideration but so is the performance. Thanks everyone.

It depends on your system too. You could easily bottleneck a 1070 with a not upgraded CPU.
    What's your system right now?

I've got a i5 4670k @4.4Ghz on an MSI gaming z97 motherboard and I opted for an MSI 1060 OC, that's near a 980ti as performances (maybe better in dx12), because a 1070 would have probably Bottlenecked the CPU, leave alone a 1080...

Good point, my PC is Dell XPS 8900, Intel Core i7 I think @4Ghz. Video card is NVIDIA® GeForce® GT 730 2GB DDR3 which I am planning to replace.

Ok, so it's just up to you and your wallet.
I'd go with a 1070. MSI, Asus & Sapphire are the brands I've always used and never had problems with.
    Something like this: https://us.msi.com/Graphics-card/GEFORCE-GTX-1070-GAMING-X-8G.html

I ended up using EVGA GeForce GTX 1070 FTW GAMING Graphics Card. Had to replace a power supply with 500W. Very tight fit, the video card is huge. Oculus installation was a breeze up until I decided to upgrade to Windows 10 ver 1607. I would recommend not to do it for now as there are certainly compatibility issues. Managed to get it to work. Oculus is awesome, the free demo is breathtaking. Haven't had a chance to try it with Assetto, just downloaded steam plugin so this is a next step. Now I see that v2.0 of simtools is available, is it totally different and would require a whole new setup?

    thx

    Welcome to the VR world.

Yes SimTools 2.0 requires you delete SimTools 1.3 to install it, so you will need to do setups again.

SimTools 2.0 is definately worth the upgrade effort and where it applies costs, as it is far more reactive, it feels like an engine upgrade, and will soon have additional functionality added like transducer support and motion video tools.

I am happy to report that the rig is 100% functional and Oculus is totally awesome. Big thanks to this community and special thanks to @Nick Moxley and @noorbeast for saving me hours of frustration. I have quite a few things that i still need to work on. My plan is to upgrade to simtools 2.0 and then to start introducing more games. I am hoping that a learning curve is going to be a lot easier since i am already familiar with the concept. Interestingly enough, both my son and I felt a bit of a motion thickness after playing Assetto for not a very long time. Hopefully this does not become an issue as we both never been thick on the boat, plane, etc.

There is a lot of visual movement in a race game, so start with more sedate cars and take it a bit easy in VR for a while, also ensure your motion profile is well refined, you want fast an precise axis movement.
