Unpatching is done via Game Manager.

SimTools 2.0 is more responsive and interfaces with JRK natively now, so it is worth tweaking your profiles to get the most out of your sim.

If you completely uninstalled 1.3 and deleted settings when you've been asked to, during the uninstalling process, then you already unpatched all previous games.

Spent few hours last couple of days working on the assetto profiles. For some reason game engine keeps kicking me out. With v1.3 this was happing during a crash, etc. With v2.0 I don't think it happens when I crash. I am yet to figure out why this is happening. I am planning to replace my USB cables with something beffeer and then maybe replace USB hub that jrks are plugged into.

Proportional 0.75, integral 0.4, derivative 1.0. I was running same settings with 0.3 integral on 1.3. My PC is right next to jrks so I am not sure how helpful changing the cables will be. Very frustrating.

Is there USB3.0 cable, looked at amazon mostly if not all 2.0.

@noorbeast i am familiar with this very useful thread and video. I also noticed native jrk support in simtools. What I didn't realize is that "some tweaking" is in order. So if I follow you correctly, I could tealax some of the PID settings and get the same response because of the native support? it is unfortunate that we can't run simtools and Jrk utility at the same time amymore, it was pretty convenient.

    Thx

Not being able to run the JRK tool and SimTools at the same time is the unfortunate side effect of using the native API.

Tuning the PID is a bit like refining a motion profile, it is somewhat unique to each sim and is worth checking.

So after spending a couple of hours tearing everything apart and putting it back together it looks like cables replacement did the trick. I finished late last night and didn't have a whole lot of time but based on preliminary tests I am no longer being kicked out from the game engine. JRKs are still connected to a USB hub and cables only have ferrite filter on one end, so there is still room for improvement should the issue persist.

Was able to successfully setup No Limits 2 for motion (with some help from @noorbeast) . Could've saved myself an hour if I paid attention to instructions and put "--" instead of "-" in front of telemetry. I attached my settings, please comment away. Axis 1 and 2 are shoulder motors, axis 3 is traction loss and axis 4 is surge. I also have 35% smoothing for roll, 50% smoothing for sway, and 40% smoothing for yaw. Also notice that I don't have yaw assigned to shoulder motors, after experimenting a bit I think it works best with the traction loss axis. I also opened tuning a bit for a smoother motion as compared to more snappier response I have in Assetto. Any suggestions are appreciated, cheers.

Generally it helps to post both the settings and a video of the rig in action showing its movement and the game screen at the same time.

That way members are in a better position to advise about possible further tweaks.

Major issue tonight. The hollow tubing that u-joint is attached to gave in under my weight. Relatively easy fix, but I have to tear the whole thing apart. I just finish dressing up the wiring, permanently mounting everything in place, etc. Just started to enjoy the darn thing...Oh, well.

    Ouch!

There is always some tweak, improvement or upgrade to do, so you tend to get pretty good at tearing your own sim apart :grin

Wow, every time jump on the forum I feel like starting over. I'm building a seat shaker, but I want traction loss. After seeing your rig I am drooling over surge. Very Nice Machine. I will be keeping an eye on this thread for my next build.

Thx. I am by no means racing expert, but I feel and enjoy surge a lot more than a traction loss.

Hi everyone, I am back and finally got around to setting up war thunder and have some questions.

For some reason I don't get any movement captured on roll and pitch axes, pls take a look at the screenshot.

Also I was wondering how you are handling switching between controls. Once I connected my HOTAS Warthdog, it completely messed up my AC settings and I had to reassign all controls. Is this a one time deal, or should I disconnect controllers that are not used for a particular game? I hope this is not the case.

Lastly, could someone pls tell me where sim tools stores games presets so i could delete old ones i no longer need? I managed to mess this up as well and has to re0enter all the settings. It ios not very intuitive as you can't really select from the drop down list of the old presets, need to type the name and then it overwrites it.

    thx
