Time will tell...:) it is something never tested. They are working fine, I soldered the shaft to the metal gear as it got some movement soon, most sure because of what you say, not designed for our use, but after the soldering they work great.

here is my cog. no torsion and a large angle. with 4 brackets it can be brought into the correct position under the seat (only 1 bracket to see the positions of the screws). the cog is in a type of sandwich. the aluminum profiles outside and 2 rectangular steel tubes in the middle with a hole which receives the cv. 20151121_032543.jpg 20151121_032633.jpg

    thanks for the tips!
with the engines I currently have the most problems. it only confuses me why some have used 24v motors. half the voltage means 1/4 power. I´m still looking for these motors which used most of the community. a dealer of the engines in germany or in europe would be nice.
The CV joint has no lateral twist, it is very strong and smooth.
The frame will be foot mounted.
The seat... I agree with you. it's about twice as heavy as a sports seat. i´ll replace the seat against a lighter one.

There is a dealer for the 12v gear motors in UK iirc, search the forum and you will find it.

Also the CV has to be as near as the cog as possible, so you have to put it as high as possible, not the other way

Theres a "theory" , that using 24v motors for 12v because 24v motors might be stronger. I still dont see how. Theres other motor options out there.

Meanwhile i have everything but the motors. arduino, motor shield, poti resistance, artesyn 69A psu, cv, lever and the construction is finished.
I´m still looking for a seller in germany for the motors. smolka-berlin.de has a lot of motors but I do not know which one fits.
I´m looking for a motor with these specs... 12v >200w 50rpm >20NM but the choice is difficult

Motor choices are somewhat limited and smolka discontinued one that was very popular with European sim builders, so I am not sure what they now have that is suitable.

The specs you are using are sensible and when you think you have found something suitable then post it here and see what others think.
