2DOF Seat Mover - First Build

    Some more progress today!

    I now have the pots soldered up and heat shrunk in place, just need to decide where the Uno will be mounted. I think just behind the motors will work nicely

    Ive also moved the IBTs to the front of the frame, the motor cables reach here and with the PSUs, I can run a fan to them easily.

    Mounted the power supplies using custom 3D printed brackets that work really nicely. With the connections to the front of the frame I can wire into the IBTs quite easily here. I just need to print some covers for the connections.

    Started wiring everything up, just need to decide on Uno placement now. GT2 pulleys and fans for the IBTs alao on their way.

    Per the diagram the R_EN and L_EN signal on the IBT are tied together and go back to a single pin on the Uno.

    Don't forget to program the Uno for the correct Mode. Also, I'd suggest testing it before you mount anything that can mechanically bind up.

    You should have two wires for + and two for - on the power connection. Looks like you used an old power cord for that, sometimes the three wires are not all the same size in those. Although I usually don't use it, speaker wire is a good source for heavier gauge power wiring that is usually less expensive.

    The base looks nice and clean. I would suggest some sort of cover for the screw terminals on the PSU's.

    Thanks guys, yes Noorbeast, I meant 3 and 4 on the Uno tied together.

    I will have a look at other wiring too, see if I can find something better.

    The PSUs will get 3d printed covers for the terminals, I just need to design them up with the openijgs for cables.

    The programming for me will be the hard side, Ive seen I need to set mode 2. Il be running the 3D printed arms for testing before mounting the joint and top seat section.

    Bit more progress, I redesigned the IBT mount to incorporate a 24v fan 80mm. Il also print a cover for the bottom to tidy up the wiring and also still need to print the PSU covers.

    Wiring almost done and my motor pulleys have arrived. The 200mm belts werent big enough so just waiting on some 230mm to arrive.

    My custom mount for the 7960s inc the fan and bottom cover are now on Thingiverse if it helps anyone out. This is an edited version of another IBT mount to begin with, cant remember whos so please credit if you come across them.

    Hole spacing for mounting to aluminium profile is 150mm, but I am sure this could be edited to suit.

    Looks nice and compact but seems like it would be a pain to try adjusting any of the wiring plugged into the Arduino. I wonder how susceptible the Arduino is to the radiated noise from the motors, it is right under the end where the brushes are.
