Off topic, how are your power supplies holding up? I think I still need to tame my profiles a little, my supplies will kick off in a crash or rough stuff. If my motors were overshooting I think it would give me a jrk error right?

Instead of just shorting my p.s. pins I ran wires from them pins up to toggle switches by my wheel and make the short there so I can power up motors or shut them down easily. Happens to make it really easy to reset my ps when they kick out, just wondering how yours have been.

@jem45472 , can you send me your screen shots of JRK utility settings? We can advise there if something is amiss.
    Cheers, David.

Hi Dave dont want to sidetrack Nicks thread too much, but these are the settings Im using as per your instruction.

    http://www.xsimulator.net/community/threads/newbie-with-2-dof.5362/page-4

    with these changes
    In utility
PID period increase to 20 ms
    intergral limit to 5000
    analog samples to 512

    Game engine settings.
    HW start 10ms
    packet rate 20ms
    HW stop 10ms

I have other photos of setup in my build thread.

Everything seems ok other than random ps shutdowns when things get rough. Im probably just running over aggressive profiles. :D

Was just checking with Nick as we have nearly identical hardware setups. I

Oh, sorry, my mistake, maybe fiddle with profiles then, try adding boundary to the overall force in the axis assignment.
PSU may be getting overdriven, I will check your thread to see what you are running.

Looks like the psu are either not supplying enough amps, in this case change the jrks Max current to 30-35amps and test, if this is not the case then the current being feedback from the jrk , which happens when its in freewheel movement it does this because its designed to use this energy to recharge the batteries , remember this is a controller designed for robotic use. So in order to capture this charge I use a dc battery wired in parallel with the psu. Another bonus my Dc Battery can deliver 50AMP HRs so it too can back up the psu if the jrk wants to draw hard.
If you are pushing the Jrk hard , a decent power source is needed , indeed.

Got buddy's motor's all prepped. Pot mounting went well i think, allows for some deflection and its nice and sturdy.

Sorry Jem, didn't get a chance to check out those presets you posted. If they were based on what Dave or Robbie told you they technically should be the same as mine. I haven't played with any of the motor power setting's or anything. The only think i tried was what robbie suggested which was the Max Current and once i realized the pots to adjust the voltage weren't going to help I went back to 0 or Unlimited and have never had an issue.

Wow prices are really high over there SeatTime, whats a Gamer 2 go for over there ? Or is it the Shipping, taxes and Duties that bring up the price ?
