Buddy always whined about not being able to use my shifter (i have a shorter forearms compared to buddy) So i decided to make him an adjustable plate so he can have some H pattern fun too. It may not look like a lot of travel, but it actually is, Fully extended is a No go for me, Im physically having to reach for the knob....So mission accomplished. :)

@Nick Moxley Can you please share any pics or diagram of your traction loss mechanism? I'm thinking of doing something similar. I'm just mechanically inept and struggle picturing things. I way better with software and electronics. Thanks!

TL pics are on page 14, plus Ignore the Chain drive stuff.... And Dont feel bad, I also had a hard time at first picturing the lever/rod arm action in my head, Then I seen a particular build with lever and rod arms that you could visually see through the deck of the rig and it all made sense then. As some would say the light bulb moment. lol

    Thanks!
I am starting to do my design now. Just getting ideas. I am playing a seat back mount 2dof with an upgrade of traction loss later. I'm super excited. Gonna be a slow build. Hard to get times with kids and work.

I already have some motors so hopefully they can move me well. I'm looking at seats at the moment. I'm worried about performance with my weight + seat. I weigh 190lbs.

A seatmover like Nicks will be fine as long as its shoulder mounted and balance is set right, @Jamburglar.

So Small update for some electrical stuff, I ran the Stock Mini USB wire that came from Pololu since the beginning of my rig and while it worked great, i would get the odd shut down that called ZERO motor driven error's, NO feedback disconnects, Nothing out of the ordinary that i could put my finger on. But yet somehow Simtools manages to loose connection with the PC requiring exiting/crashing/refiring up Simtools to get the motion back.

So after a few discussion's with pololu and Robbie, The Pololu tech suggested i try some Ferrite shielded USB cables. And what do you know, They seemed to help, I was able to run my rig even harder and faster than i was before and no fear of any shutdown's.

So a word of advice, Get some quality Sheilded cables for your JRK's. PS, you dont have to spend big for good cable's. Just make sure they are 28/24AWG

    here's the one's i got.

Thanks for the info @Nick Moxley

Ive had some issues with usb cables too, had random shutdowns the same and found changing usb cables fixed the problem but would still ocasionally have the odd shutdown (pretty much none now) however Ive just ordered some of those usb leads you got to replace all mine as they sound like what I was looking for (good quality usb leads) DO NOT BUY JAYCAR ONES they are useless for NZ and Aussie people :)

Just a small word of warning that amazon gave some crazy shipping price for those usb leads like $270 nzd just for shipping but I found they also sell them on ebay and only about $30 nzd for shipping for the exact same usb leads

Just type in ebay Monoprice USB 2.0 A Male to Mini-B 5pin Male 28/24AWG Cable w/ Ferrite Core

Nick got the 6ft ones by the looks of it but ive ordered 4 x 6ft and 4 x 10ft to try out, was unsure in 10ft would be too long as ive found leads have to be as short as possible with jrks previously

Interesting on the shipping quote, but not really on the other hand, These cable's showed up literally within 24 hours of ordering, so im assuming these are a Amazon.ca specific priced item for us Canucks, I got free shipping on them as well, so for 12$ total i wasn't exactly complaining. :grin

OK so next tip for guys who want to save a few $$ and maybya try their own Ferrite cores.

I found they come in an assortment of sizes from like, 2-3mm upwards of 8-9mm diameter's for bigger wires. Prices can Vary but you can usually find them for under 1$ a piece.

Search Ferrite Core on Ebay and you'll find plenty of sizes. I have some of these on the way and might test with the current ferrite shielded cables i already have. I mean after all who says there such this as too much shielding/protection.

    Great suggestion @Nick Moxley!

It is not the dollars that matter to me but where the cores are located on the cable, as I have a very small box for the 3 JRKs and very limited room. The clips will give me far more options to locate the cores on the cables.

    Yes ferrite beads are miraculous.

I use them on every single cable of the rig (power and signal).

I suggest to place them on both ends on long cables.

As close as you can to the ends.
