Excellent, the mammoth task, with black walls and black ceiling give her more immersion.

Hi all, video follows soon, but that is not the reason I'm posting here. After this week testing I determine a curious issue, both VNH5019's which are working independent to each other are stopping after one lap on Nords at the same time. Both drivers are connected to one PSU (two 12 PSUs but powering 24V, same current), eventually the PSU have some problems or the VNH5019's are too weak, in this case I could buy two additional VNH's (dual single bridge) (expensive) or I am going the sabertooths route (very expensive), or I let it like it is...

BTW fooling the brain works same here using the surge and sway acceleration. Even the acceleration is neither very fast nor as fast as we expect in a car, it tricks the brainb ecause we see the acceleration and we feel it - although we have to adapt it and it needs settling in a little bit. I was shutting down the tables and tried the old combo - woah how annoying! Even if it is not real (which is never to be reached driving simulators), it is very very immersive.

Two things are now different - I am using the clutch very cautiously (the car is jumping forward like the hell if you are not familiar using the clutch) and I am really afraid when crashing - you never know, the rig can be damaged as well ;)...so my lap times are pretty slower (yet) than before w/o surge and sway tables. But I feel so much better :p

Do they both stop at the same time in the same place? Always?? Hmmm... is there a bump, a curb, something like that?

I can imagine how you feel when you're about to crash... I fear it with my little seat mover, I would p*** in my pants with your beast!!

often at the same time but on different places. So I wonder why, because the drivers are working completely independent, sometimes one force does nothing while the other is doing some action.

This may be a long shot but perhaps the VNH5019's crashing are linked to some AC bug that triggers them, such as the ghost car bug.

I reported that if the ghost car is enabled AC crashes out of the game and back to the menu at Nords after 1 lap, turn the Ghost car off and it is fine: http://www.assettocorsa.net/forum/i...car-issues-after-1-2.25355/page-2#post-527854

Let's hope it will be fixed in 1.3
My problem with ghost at Nords is I don't have any ghosts...

After one day tinkering I can confirm that the vnh5019s have problems to handle high current peaks. Driving on Nord is a very bumpy thing and when the car jumps over a bump the wheels loose the contact to the ground, the effect (surge) is so "aggressive" that the drivers stop working. Same while touching a curb like in a real car the car will be pushed very hardly to the other side which results on the same behavior. Now I have to decide to buy two additional vnhs (dual single bridge) or to go the sabertooth route.

@Pit Do the VNH5019 stop completely, or just for a second?

@SeatTime they stop completely I have to start the SMC3 tool to wake them up. Interestingly they stop mostly at the same time... o_O

With SMC3, can you lower the PWM of only one side?

hmm, I can - you mean if one driver stops the second should work even only using very low power. If the second driver stops, too then something is wronger than wrong - but not with the VNHs IMO.

@Pit have you tried to push reset button on the arduino to see if it wakes up your VNH5019.
in a other track like spa do you have shutdowns too?
i know you were not asking but i vote vnhs (dual single bridge) .
you have done a great job with your sim

Ordered 1x Sabertooth 2x32A. I can use the VNHs for some experiments later.
