Probably the craziest DIY motion simulator I've seen

    I like it !!

It would be nice to see some snippets of @SeatTime's @zigzag49's and @SilentChill's (use his P3D vids) 6DOF rigs, @Avenga76's rig, @mazak515's folding rig, a nice SCN rig (@HoiHman's rig was real interesting but the actuators were problematic) , some peripheral snippets like @tommy06's, some traction loss action, and there would be plenty of others.

And EuroTruck Simulator 2....there should be more videos with rigs running ETS2 :)

Pit, can I request you make one? :thumbs

In deed there are plenty of others but even though different. If you @RaceRay would like to present some of these videos of the rigs in a different section to represent some of them which would be a great idea, for this reason I can take a better video showing the best of all. The only issue which is still present is my load cell of the dsd pedals: when I am braking the surge table moves back and at this moment I have jerky dropouts on the pedal. As long I didn't solve the issue I still waited for making new videos. Saturday probably I'm off to dig into it and if i clear it out I make a video.

hmm. Ok. Thank you for the appreciation, so may I kindly ask you do you know which forces are simulated by using the tables (forward, backward, right, left)?

FI, the movement of a simulator is not meant to look real, but has to 'feel' real. Sustained forces are not easy to simulate on a small movement Sim, a large moving XY table as @Pit and even larger as Toyota has built, is one solution for this.

Other solutions would be a harpic one which @noorbeast has implemented/investigating and larger moving 6DOFs which I and others are using. Not trying to pick on @thecures, just some education on what is obviously a common misunderstanding for the uninitiated.

BTW I could fiddle out the brake pedal dropout issue. The source of the malfunction is a faulty USB port.

IMO this thread is not the right place to discuss any of these commercial motion systems. Whatever you prefer I respect and you are free to buy/build such a rig like the 401CR. Before doing so, I suggest to study the really realistic one:

And - BTW - the 401CR is somewhat of impressively fast, fast in getting nausea...

What a amazing rig you build :thumbs, my respect and kudo's (you must have a lot of spare time :grin)
keep up the good work (it inspires me, so maybe in the future i'll go for the multiple dof features)

I have spare time, because I take the time...:) thank you. Hope my rig gives inputs to everybody to make it even better. ;)

What happend today so far: while the T500RS is running like a beast (yippiiee), the battery of my car was empty, after starting the car (waiting for dedicated power) the fan's of the car heater didn't work anymore, it became fu*ç"%ç*g cold in the car!!
Since today there is no more washout filter working (SimTools 2 Alpha), one if these new MMs died 2 seconds after the first test, then the brake pedal (load cell) was beginning to dropout like hell, I am off today and only here to repair something...at the moment I have no separate heave and no working surge and sway tables. If YOU plan to build a BIG simulator, you need more TIME for repairing it than for driving it...lol

BTW got just in touch with Dustin and SimTools 2 Beta is on the way. This (new) piece of software will blow your mind!!

Small Updates: gas spring installed to avoid high current peaks and overheating of the motor (500N).
    YDXJ3212.jpg
INstalled two pivot heads instead the old and heavy universal joint (10mm):
    YDXJ3213.jpg
Other things to do: replacing the IBM PUs under the seat with a HP ATSN-7000956-Y000) server PSU due to it's interference and much more things to do (fine tuning and optimization):
    YDXJ3210.jpg
Testing SimTools 2 Beta 1, already very promising. At the moment we are testing the washout filter, because this option has been not really functional and I can promise already, this new filter is now working as it should. There are some details which are not yet perfect but @yobuddy is keep working hard. Now SimTools 2 supports two Axis Assignments:
    simtools1.png
Game manager now with vibe support and a off/on button, from now you have not tho shut down the game manager anymore when you change any values in the game manager while the game is still running. Many more things, if time is ready yobuddy will present all the new details which will happen the next weeks.
    simtools_gamemanager1.png

PS: the spaghetti syndrome is one of my things on the to-do-list, but I wait until all is done because every time when I have to change something (and there is still a lot to change) I must open the wiring at each time...
