That should be enough unless possibly when mixing a high mass section with a low mass section or something like that where the forces required vary considerably.

You can get that extra 50% from the profile editor for each force individually ...

    Smoothing test :
    Smoothing filters are used as 0% Axis1 , 25% Axis 2, 50% Axis 3 , 100% Axis 4 ... with 100% Axis limits
All Axis go to the same point but with a respective time latency to smoothing % ... I've captured the output testing photo so quickly as car was accelerating . so to differentiate the 4 slider's position per the same time .

Remember, this adjusts your max/min values for each DOF on the fly.
So if you had a max min of 20/-20, adjusting it can get a new max /min of 10/-10 to 30/-30 for that DOF.

Not really. I don’t think you completely understand what I mean. The axis that end in letter a and the corresponding axis that end in letter b use the same tuning numbers. In order to make the b axis output more or less force than the corresponding a axis, you have to scale from the a axis tuning numbers since you can’t set b tuning numbers. Actually you could but then the a axis would have to be scaled from the b axis.

Using the profile editor scales both axis a and b together so while you could use it to increase the b axis to over 200% by scaling up a 150% max setting (I think), it would increase the a axis proportionally as well which is not desired when you’re attempting to get your b settings where you want them in relation to a settings.

@BlazinH ... I do fully understand your statement my friend :thumbs ... but actually you are putting an advanced advice where a simple one is really needed ...

Actually I enjoy adding some spices flavor even to the simplest one :p thus hardly here keeping a straight line advice for the simplest way of tweaking SimTools for this simulator .

So if you get me point ... you should be able to write it down 10 times faster or accurate than my second language can do .

    Hello fellow,
This had become quite a heavy learning tutorial. Some of it at this point, is "still" way over my head, BUT, I am determined to absorb, assimilate, and use this valuable information.
Thanks to all for the continued interaction on this subject.................

IMHO, it would be nice for most of "us" non-guru's, that a new SimTools v2.0 Manual be constructed so we can go over it many times until it clicks and becomes second nature.

    Many blessings,

    Tom

Did this thing ever get finished?
What an absolutely genuinely stellar job Tom!

Looks like it's been 3.5 years since the last post, hopefully you have clocked up many hours of fun!

    Hello Globespy,
Surprise to see your post on my "then" project.
I had a good 3 months use and fun on the completed project when disaster hit!
I was using a "member-made" board to use with Sim software. For whatever reason, during a
race game, the simulator went crazy and in about 2 seconds it twisted and tore loose the spline shaft
and tilted the whole simulator forward and fully down on the right front corner.
(Note, this was before Thanos came out with his new 1280USB Board.)
After looking at the damage, it was going to be a massive rebuild and I put it off until late fall.

Before I could get too the rebuild, I had several big time illnesses hit and after 19 months, and getting
pretty well, then I had to have 3 surgeries to implant an stimulator, clean out the wound 6 months later,
then remove the stimulator as my body rejected it..........

So, here we are fighting Covid19 and Terrorists trying to take over country.

Simulator still sits................I am going to remove the AC motors and Gearheads, lower the simulator
down to a solid base with no movement. Then I am going to implement a 2 dof add on unit under the
RS1 Seat. At least I will have movement and the grandkids will love

At 73, and not where I used to be physically, this will be a great accomplishment for me.

Thanks for bringing up the past and your kind words on the build.

    Blessings,
    Tom

    Hi Tom

I'm new here, so I guess I never saw the other post.
So sorry to hear about your health.
I turned 49 yesterday and live every day of my life with heath issues that have reduced my once exciting life to racing sims.
I hope to make it to 73, but at the same point it's just a number and the body can break down at any number!

I had the RS1 for a couple of years before I needed something more sturdy for the torque of the DD wheel - the RS1 is a very solid cockpit, and always loved the one arm design. Maybe just not so good for 25nm of torque, but even then it only flexed a little, and most would not notice - OCD is a terrible affliction!

Take care, best of luck with your new build and most importantly I wish you good health.
    :)

So Good hearing back from you friend.
I am sorry you're having issues at such a young age. I will pray for you and "Never Give Up".
I had great health until 69 - then it starting hitting like a hurricane. Before I could get completely over one
onslaught, another would hit. Only one onslaught was deadly.. sepsis, out of nowhere.
But, I still see light at the end of the tunnel. If one does not have hope, it's overwith.
I have peripheral neuropathy in both legs/feet and hands. Just numbness and burning constantly. Really
changes your life force. Looking at new method after we get over Covid. Just too dangerous to go to any
medical outpatient clinic or hospital. I AM one of those persons at high risk.

But, in summary, I am thankful to the Good Lord for helping me get through these challenges and still
want to travel some as I had planned before all the problem.

I've always said: "You want to make God laugh, just tell him everything you are going to do".

Again, I appreciate you comments on my simulator.

Please stay in touch and let me know how you're progressing in health and simulator.

Please give me you real first name and I will put you in my prayer list.

    Thanks,
    Tom

PS - When I get my AC Motors, Gearheads, AC Inverters pulled from my sim, including a brand new
Thanos 1280 Board, never used, I am going to post here.
