Very nice achievement, long live alu ...
Do you have an idea of the total weight of this mobile structure?

In contrast, the lightness and the rigidity of the aluminum (greater than steel) will increase the stability of the whole!
Although stability is related to the amplitude of movement, itself linked to the power of the engine.
The opportunity to test several simulation. based on small engines wiper type cylinders and not more than 700mm off of 1100mm long perfectly stable. All these devices are based on rubber buffer. They do not move during their operation.
We found many examples of various manufacturing with such dimensions.

Nice project! Good idea to make those holes. You can hide every cord in tube and it look very pro. You could put some fabric or plastic over the frame so you can feel that you are in car.

    @mazak515 : Je confirme l'aluminium est :
    - Plus léger que l'acier
    - Plus rigide que l'acier, ce qui implique comme corolaire qu'il est beaucoup moins élastique ce qui le rend beaucoup plus cassant...

    @ mazak515: I confirm aluminum is:
    - Lighter than steel
    - Stiffer than steel, which entails as a corollary that it is much less elastic which makes it much more brittle ...

    Bonjour,

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Hello,
The lower part will be a mixture of both materials.
To end the rigiditée / qualitée structure, ALU vs STEEL all depends on what you use.
Example: ALU 6060 or ALU 7075, materials with completely different characteristics :)
On the progress of my simulator, I admit I spent a lot of time indoors (play ^^) rather has its design ...
I am just finishing optocouplers, @ speedy my great help;)
I added the HOTAS WARTOG and therefore added to the structure of the reinforcements / lateral supports.

Pour les moteurs ca devrait être 1,1KW, 35tr/mn, 215NM avec VFD, x3.

    Slt Yannick,

What is the structure above the seat for? Is it for stability or are you going to mount your monitors there?
