You can reverse pins 1 and 3 on the potentiometer. This will make it read opposite direction so it will follow the bars on the screen.
You can display numbers (percentage) on the lcd screen by pressing the encoder in, on the screen that displays bars!

    Thanks

Ok Great that worked.. also if I slide the potentiometer in and out with the motor running it spins the motor in both directions at variable speeds!
    Awesome stuff Thanks Thanos.

Hopefully the rs485 to usb adapter turns up this week so I can double check all of the parameters.

If the drives that are failing are not fixable what drives and motors should I purchase?
I dont mind upgrading or should I just try and source some of the same eps-be models?

The usb adapter turned up yesterday so I will do some investigating on the parameter settings.

What type of drives should I buy Thanos?

I cant seem to pick the drives in the dorwin software .. it only gives me options for EPS-B1 EPS-M1 and EPS-HD but i dont have any of those , i only have EPS-EB.

The software also has alot of question marks so i can not read what anything says as well as the buttons to choose

You can switch the software to english language if you proceed with:

    dorwin emulation selection screen.jpg

And in the program click on the language menu:

    dorwin language selection screen.jpg

But, you are right, it seems Dorwin doesn't have profile for the parameters of EPS-EB...

So, if you are going to replace the two damaged servo drives you would have to get the same EPS-EB models so there is not difference is speeds etc.

Or you could switch all servos to EPS-M1 but they have different wiring for the encoder cable of the servos:

    EPS-EB encoder cable pinout:

    Dorna EPS-EB-encoder cable.jpg

And the EPS-M1 encoder cable pinout:

    EPS-M1-encoder cable.jpg

Also the EPS M1 are expensive as I seen from a quick google around:
    https://www.ebay.com/i/172407216308?chn=ps
But they won't provide you cables for the servo motors you have (different pinout on the encoder).

Your best bet if you want to switch to Dorna-M1 is to contact one of the factories in China that make complete systems and ask them to provide you with two Dorna EPS-M1 drives along with proper encoder cables for your servos (give them the info of the motor from the plate on it)

Here is a factory that can help you with that ( Tell Shao, Thanos referred you...):

Thankyou @Thanos i have emailed him so we will see what he comes up with.

Do you think if i connect the rs-485 to usb to check the parameters and just select any of the other ones i will be able to see any difference in the parameters or will it just not recognise the drives because it is not supported on the list in DORWIN?

It will read the parameters but the parameter numbering, description and type of parameters contents won't match, and it could write trash values over on your drive. I don't recommend it...

No worries glad I did not even try it!
I contacted Shao and I also asked for the cables and even new motors etc but it will just take me a little time to be able to afford it.
He also told me I wont need the position sensors anymore

So I will go ahead with it just wont be for a few weeks

I believe he will switch you to absolute positioning servo drives from syntron. In that case you won't need limit switches or linear potentiometers or even servo signal driving circuit. It hooks up to AMC1280USB with just 6 twisted shielded cable pairs over to its 12bit DAC interface:

I understand all of this diagram but what kind of cable should i use? is it a Cat6 twisted pair .. sorry im a bit confused on this

And also the Sink Digital Inputs part.. On the bottom right of the extension board i see [+ com - - +].

Would i also be able to get the 3D printer file for the top cover of the AMC1280USB so i could stop any dust getting in ?

    Thanks Thanos

You can use a stripped CAT6 cable for shielded pairs between the 6DOF ext and the connector of the servo drive.

    See this updated schematic:
    AMC1280USB to Syntron 3in1.GIF

You can find the STL files for the AMC1280USB top cover:

    Thanks Thanos

I am not exactly sure on how to answer his question

I will send you an invite on skype and start to plan the new controller we talked about if it is ok?

    Hello everyone.
Could anybody share DorWin software please?
The only link (newtech.pk) is dead now and the software is not available on the the Dorna web page..
    Will appreciate your help.

Thanks so much. but, I think DorWin software doesn't support EPS-EB servo drive.
Dose any body have any experience about connecting this type to DorWin software?
