Adding 2DOF motion to my 80/20 GS-4 Rig

Never have and never will post pictures / video's of myself on the net. Not into facebook and that stuff. Don't mind posting about my rig, but i want to remain anonymous. In the last year I had 2 requests of the largest IT website in my country (3,6 mil views p.m) They wanted to make a video item of my rig. Said the same thing. Ok but i don't want to be in the video.

Besides me just prefering to stay out of the picture, there's also a business related consideration about this that i don't want to disclose here.

But i will find a way to post a video of the rig. I think it's even better showing you guys without me in it because than you can also see what the GS-4 is doing at the same time.

Quite busy with work at the moment, but i will post a video a soon as possible.

(and no: i'm no thinking about selling my design)

Yeah, i was thinking just showing a replay in PCARS. In PCARS the replays have data output too.

Put a dummy in the seat

OBS as @noorbeast suggested won't work as i don't have a webcam. This afternoon i did manage to capture a video, but it's very difficult in this tight space to capture both seat and game in one video. Coudn't get the entire seat on video, because the wall is blocking it, but looking at the video i think it gives a good impression.

It's Dirt2 trailblazer stage and it's uploading to youtube at the moment. Dirt2 is just one those games that i keep playing whenever i have something new on my rig.

The GS-4 / Buttkickers and the motion seat all perfectly blend together into one. The feeling of speed on the large triple screens combined with the motion is awesome. I remember in the first run i was actually afraid

Great ride and motions, great fun after all. I think you are on the very good track to get it done right.
Next would be to see how it moves with some 'on road' racing simulation like Assetto Corsa, pCars, rFactor, don't know what you have from those - but there we could see better simulated movement and give you better feedback on those.

A Dirt2 trailblazer run is like a rollercoaster ride. Pretty awesome and very intense,

This morning while driving i actually had a smile from ear to ear What you are not seeing in the video is the 7 buttkickers and the moving panels of the GS-4 making the ride even more intense and immersive.

I will post a video of a lap around The Ring in AC or pCARS later.

Would anybody like see the GS-4 panels move combined with the seat movement?

@noorbeast i will try to post a video sometime this week which shows the GS4 too.

Haven't got around to making a new video which includes the GS-4 . There are some other new updates though.


- The new DSD 2015 shifter has been delivered and installed onto the rig



This shifter is kind of like a load cell for brake. You really have to shift using muscle strenght. I like it a lot, but it took some time to get used to.

I have also started on making my own rim for the AccuForce, got my quick release last week. Ordered a Micro DSD32 and designed my own button plate. I'm cutting the plates out of real carbon fiber.

Still waiting for some white buttons to arrive, i will only be using the BMW colours on this rim. The BMW logo is excact the same as in the real thing.

That's awesome! I know what you mean about the 2015 DSD, it is a bit of getting used to but I love mine.

The production version of the DSD shifter looks a lot tidier than my prototype version.

New update on the BMW rim.

-It's now mounted on the AF quick release,
-Shifters are mounted on the AF quick release
-The colours of the buttons are updated to match the BMW colours.
-New carbon fiber button plate at a 90 degree angle of carbon fiber plate on top of the rim.



DSD32 Micro is ordered to wire the buttons to the QR.
